Pullman coach at Shepperton station

Taken at Shepperton (Surrey) station today. Former South Eastern & Chatham Railway Pullman car, ‘Malaga’.

Used as a boardroom and dining room for a now defunct company based tin the adjoining offices. Seemingly in quite good condition despite this, so unsure who is responsible for maintenance?

Either way a nice sight before boarding the train to Waterloo!

Misleading? Eurostar Plus/Premium catering from Brussels to the Netherlands

I recently took a trip from London to Rotterdam (outbound Plus, inbound Premier) booked directly though Eurostar as a return ticket.

On the outbound journey after Brussel’s I asked for a second coffee as we’d not been offered one after the initial service. I was told no, I’d have to purchase from the Eurostar café. The same was true for water.

On the inbound journey we were only offered a paper cup of water prior to Brussels.

I wrote Eurostar expressing my disappointment, but their response has gone from a ‘sorry’ to a bizarre attempt to justify the way they advertise Plus and Premium specifically for the Belgium > Netherlands routes.

I’ve been told that if I were to have looked properly at *just* the Brussels to Amsterdam route I would have seen that there is no catering icon (see image) indicating no service is provided. I responded that it is ridiculous to expect passengers to make mock bookings to find out what accurate information is.

I pushed back on this, and their line is now that actually routes from London to the Netherlands are actually separate routes: London to Brussels, and then from Brussels to Rotterdam/Amsterdam.

This hardly sounds correct either? The tickets are sold as a single ticket and route, with no severing of the journey permitted (eg disembarking in Brussels with an Amsterdam ticket).

My question is twofold: are Eurostar deliberately misleading passengers on both the point of catering and in their conditions or nature of these tickets on their routes to the Netherlands?
