Are there any smart glasses that truly let you BYOK, e.g. OpenRouter API or your own endpoint?

I love the idea of AI smart glasses, but I am tired of being locked into walled gardens or paying for another monthly subscription when I already have API credits.

I'm looking for a pair of glasses that natively support BYOK (Bring Your Own Key). Ideally, I want to be able to plug in an OpenRouter API key, connect it to my own OpenAI-compatible endpoint.

Are there any other consumer-ready smart glasses that just let you paste in an API URL and key without needing to compile your own app?

I hate it. It didn't used to be this way with Gemini 3. I also use AI Studio and I use the Gemini API but then I have to spend more money.

Hi! I’m the new mod for /r/steinbeck. How do you envision this subreddit growing an evolving going forward?

I love the community, and personally it’s amazing to me how John Steinbeck is not only an amazing author, but his work is so durable and relevant to today. We have a great opportunity to continue to share the love and dimensionalize his life, literature legacy and lessons.
