Just bought a 1994 trophy with a 2014 Suzuki 150. I have drain plug questions.
The boat is in great shape, and the engine purrs like a kitten. My concern is the drain plug. It is plastic, and was sitting in the transom well for the last 2 years. I am worried about UV damage to the plastic. The plug feels really solid, I can barely squeeze the plastic yet it still has a little give. The threads look good too. The plug is the only thing keeping me from plunking this thing in the water. I want the boat to be ready for the chinook opener in the San Juans on July 16th. Questions. Could I safely use the old plug short term? If not, where the hell can I find a replacement? I haven't been able to find one that matches in any marine store in my area (Anacortes WA....it is possible I am overlooking some), or online. I would really appreciate any advice or recommendations.
