If we ever get that sweet balance between attack and defense this game can really go places. The first weeks were fun as hell, sure I was getting dribbled up and down the pitch but scoring felt satisfying enough to keep pushing.

Rn it feels less enjoyable cause the game isn't as strong in defending, everything in defending feels weird even more with the buff. You can see the game simply doesn't have the defending animations yet to be so mainly centered around defense. It also exposed the fragile attacking AI and passing system.

I would agree the game was ratty and a goalfest but it was playing to its strengths. Now we have to wait until the attacking AI catches up to the defensive buff which may take a while. They wanted to stop the goalfest and did, now they really have to deliver and I believe they will!

Keep pushing through the patches fellow Goalers, we will see greener pastures

I am having a not so great time after the patch, I was never the dribbler kind of guy but I did like to run with the ball from time to time and now it's impossible.

Everyone can just r1 press and barge anyone off the ball at any time, shooting is much more difficult cause you lost all time to think before shooting and you also have the keeper buff. When I read the last patch notes I was certain it would turn the game into a goal fest with the amount of nerfing they gave jockeying and keepers, and now as I read the notes of this current past I was certain this was too much of a buff.

It most certainly is, there is little to no skill in defending at the moment and a not strong enough attacking AI will not be able to balance the game out at this state. Hopefully they keep tweaking it and hopefully without this heavy hand cause the game just did a 360⁰ when it needed a 180⁰.

I played a lot today, trying out the patch and losing a lot only to realize that my full backs were consistently staying way back, not caring about the defensive line and putting my opponents wingers onside. I had my full backs on defend to help cope with the lack of defense pre-patch but now they seem to have to be on balanced cause they will consistently ruin your backline.

If there is no defense how have I improved so much in a week, from conceding 6-7 goals to getting clean sheets and low scoring matches. If there is no defense then what? Has my game started playing for me all of a sudden? Or are you giving up before you actually understand the game?

I think to anyone who's been around this sub during this week you'll have noticed the pinnacle of disgusting human behaviour.

Between those who go out of their way to just trash the game and actively hope it fails to those who can't accept that there are people who actually like the game, you almost can't really find a positive note on this sub.

The game has been out for a WEEK for most of us, there is no way to justify the amount of trashing on the game going on rn. You either have ridiculous expectations or you have no ability to cope with your own frustrations.

This game is FREE TO PLAY, has a fresh concept, has a sub-par gameplay, this game has been out for a week and it evidently is still a work in progress so why is everyone acting like this isn't reality. Fkin take a chill pill, if a free game gets you this upset maybe you should reconsider your whole value system cause for me when something is free, the bar can't possibly be immediate greatness smh
