[technique] Not enough FAE?
First fruit. Started with a spray and grow, did a "grain" (sterilized CVG) to grain transfer to isolate the mycelium and then took the remaining CVG and did a bulk to bulk transfer to some straw from my local tractor supply store that I pasteurized.
I feel like the low nitrogen content from the bulk to bulk stunted the development a bit, but I'm finally getting pins. I transferred to a fruiting chamber yesterday, and all noticing the pins like a bit tall and skinny.
Is this indicative of not enough FAE or are they supposed to be this skinny?
Pearl oyster strain.
Break and Shake? [technique]
Brand new. I bought a pearl oyster spray and grow kit with the idea of doing a grain to grain transfer to start some mycelium cultures in some brown-rice sterilized mason jars. I plan on doing the grain to grain inoculation tomorrow and I opened up the box to inspect it and noticed that it doesn't look fully colonized.
Should I do a break and shake to better distribute the mycelium?
Would a break and shake today hurt my chances of a successfull grain to grain if I were to innoculate tomorrow?
