Space heater causing all my tubs to abort? [technique]

Someone else just moved in with me, and they like it a lot colder than we’re use to in the house, (they like 66-67 degrees) I’m running my space heater in my room all day, and turn it off at night while I’m at work.

Since then, every Monotub I’ve ran has stalled out and aborted about 1/3 of the way into growing. From what I understand my space heater is probably sucking all the moisture out of the room but I honestly have no idea.. it could be that I turn my heater off in the middle of the night while I’m at work, too much temperature fluctuation? I have a humidifier but I’m worried what might happen if that’s not what the problem is

[actives] turned black when drying

The black spots feel quite mushy and don't smell great. Is this indicative of too much moisture when drying? They are still a long way off being cracker dry

I presume I should throw them out? I think I'll invest in a dehydrator..

Hey guys which leading edge looks most promising to you guys?[technique]

New to this hobby. First transfer from initial spore print(gifted) looking to isolate the genetics better. Any recommendations would be appreciated ✌️

Oysters abort [gourmet]

Anyone has an idea why my Oysters abort, not always but sometimes.
Growing on 50% hardwood pellets and 50% wheat bran.

Last two pictures show a good flush.

[technique] Why aren't my mushrooms growing :(

Hello all.
As the title may suggest, I am fairly new to this hobby. I made a shotgun fruiting chamber, planning to plant PF cakes in it. But instead I used a spawn bag. The spawn bag I used was large, and almost 75% of it was colonized (white and fuzzy). It also had a little bit of a foul smell and a little bit of a green colored water in some places. I thought the bag was contaminated and done for, but further research suggested that the mycelium can still be saved. I think the cause of this contamination was excess water in the spawn bag. ( I kinda used way too many spore syringes to incubate the bag in the beginning)

After 75% of the bag was incubated, white and fluffy, I cut the bag open and took chunks of healthy looking mycelium. I broke them into smaller parts and mixed it with coco coir and vermiculate, then I moved them to the shotgun chamber. It gets indirect sunlight throughout the day and I keep the moisture in the tub within 85-95% range. It has been a month, and not a single pin has yet emerged. I fear that my mycelium was doomed from the beggining, but I thought maybe it could prevail.

I still have the spawn bag that I used. I sealed it after taking out 75% of it. The rest of it is getting all white and fluffy. I plan on adding that mycelium into the tub as a last resort if no pinning starts. But I fear that I may just lose that last bit of mycelium too if my setup, technique or method is faulty.

What would you recommend? Should I wait longer? What may be the cause of my problem? The strain is Golden Teacher btw.
Thank you all in advance ❤️

Is this [contamination] or just bruising?

Hello, this is like my 1st time doing a monotub and 4th overall grow. Was super careful with spritzing everything with 70% alc and being in a room with still air when mixing up spawn and substrate. It was looking good ~2 days ago but when i checked today after the room its in was a littler hotter than id like(about 80 degrees) i noticed this discoloration where the white turned a little darker and i saw this bluish green. Is that contamination or just some bruising from temp change? And if so is there any way to save it

Are my babies still healthy? (First time grower) [contamination]

I noticed some fuzz around the base of my mushrooms that I do not think were there yesterday. Is this normal? Any tips?

Easiest WBS Tek Ever [technique]

Step 1: Add wild bird seed to quart jars just below half full (400mL mark on mine). No rinse. No soak. No simmer.

Step 2: Add water until level with surface of grain. Makes 1lb on the dot.

*Note: This ratio (2:1 WBS to water by weight) works for containers of all sizes, just leave room for expansion.*

Step 3: Wipe jar rims clean, add lids of your choice (not airtight!), cover with foil.

Step 4: PC for 90min at 15psi, +2min per 1000ft of elevation. Follow your PC’s instructions for safe operation.

Step 5: While hot, break and shake the wet clump at the bottom. Shake again after cooling.

It’s that easy, folks!

Go ahead, ignore your oyster bucket… [gourmet]

I got distracted by a back yard construction project and didn’t open my MicoSphere for a week. This is what grew. The snow oyster is a little past prime but still good. One cluster was 1.64 lbs by itself. The blue oyster is a second flush. Anyone have better luck getting more flushes out of oyster buckets? Should I soak them?

Advice on low height setup [technique]

I am currently living in a small room and wanting to set up a small operation, I am getting a single frame bunk bed and hoping to convert the bottom section into a discreet growing area. It would ideally need to be low hight maybe 3foot max, most grows I see use tall multi layer tents and setups but this is not viable.. what is the best way about going forward with this plan?

Monotub Produced Pins! But what the hell is this ring? [contamination]

Hello all!

This is my Monotub set up.

54QT Sterilite

https://imgur.com/a/x052w0C

After several days I finally got my first pins to appear. I have counted 10 in total and finding more each day.

https://imgur.com/a/SqOiGWl

Heres the thing. I've had this weird circle growing in my tub. I dont believe it is Trich, as I have had it before and it doubled and turned green in color very fast. This has been an extremely slow growth. I also did a Q Tip test and no sporulation on the Q tip. Now, being curious about the texture, I used a sterile glove and touched the circle and it kind of feels like a marshmallow and has a very faint yellow tint to it. Could it just be overlay? Coincidently, after the first week or so, I had so much water pooled on the lid suspiciously in that particular area. So much that I had to dry it off with a paper towel. Room temp lingers around 70-75 with an air purifier circulating the air. Tub smells earthy, no sour or funky smells. Obvious blue bruising on some of the surface due to the excess water drip. 6lb popcorn grain with 10lb substrate.

The pins appear to be growing fine despite this irregularity.
What do you all think?

[technique] how do you guys prepare millets for spawn?

Basically what the title says. Every time I try to use millets as a spawn grain, I overcook it or something and the mycelium never takes off.

Tried thrice and failed three times.

It either got too mushy or was burnt (smelled like that)

Also does the variety of millet also affect the process and success?
