I made an open source Persona 5 Royal Save Editor for Steam called Change of Heart.
**Change of Heart** is a vibe-coded standalone, open-source PC save editor for *Persona 5 Royal* on Steam. It gives you full control over your save data, including Confidants, Compendium registration, Persona stats and movesets, and inventory items with automatic save file re-signing.

**1. Confidants & Story Progression**
- Full support for all 23 Arcanas with individual Rank 1–10 adjustments or 1-click batch maxing.
- 1-click 3rd Semester qualification setup (Maruki Rank 9, Kasumi Rank 5, Akechi Rank 8).
- Built-in relationship tracking: displays each character's perk unlocks, required Social Stats, and romance path options.
- Dynamic slot allocation and affinity point pairing so early-game saves are handled safely and in-game rank math stays consistent.
**2. 100% Compendium Registry**
- Reverse-engineered 232-persona bitmask supporting full 100% Compendium unlocks directly in the Velvet Room catalog.
- Interactive grid with character portraits to toggle individual persona registrations on or off.
- Quick batch unlocks for DLC Personas and Treasure Demons.
**3. Velvet Room & Party Management**
- Full 12-slot Persona stock management for Joker, allowing individual stat (St/Ma/En/Ag/Lu), level, trait, and 8-skill moveset customization.
- Party member level, HP, and SP adjustments.
- Pre-configured presets for top builds like Yoshitsune, Izanagi-no-Okami, Raoul, and Alice.
**4. Hideout & Inventory Vault**
- Dual-pane pouch interface allowing you to manage your 30 carried pouch slots alongside a searchable database of over 2,400 authentic items, weapons, armor, accessories, and skill cards.
- Quick-stock presets for infiltration tools, clinic medicines, and recovery items.
**5. Save File Safety & Encryption**
- Full recalculation of Atlus dual-layer CRC32 checksums and AES-256 container encryption so Steam never triggers save corruption errors.
- Automatic timestamped backup snapshots created in your save directory on every write.
### Why I made this
Personally, I get paralyzed whenever I realize I've veered off from a 100% guide, and the thought of wasting dozens of hours makes me not want to play the game at all. I wanted a solution that specifically helps with the time-gated Confidants.
So I created a save editor that not only solves that, but also helps protect you from spoilers and ruining the game for yourself, while still giving you the freedom to cheat or customize whatever you want if you like.
### Sharing it Open Source
Over the last few days, I vibe-coded the tool from scratch to reverse-engineer the PC save format and package it into a clean Windows desktop application. I used Hermes agent using Deepseek v4 Flash as the orchestrator with Deepseek v4 Pro and Antigravity as the primary planners. Tbh it was a hodgepodge of different configurations but that's basically the shape. There are more details in the GitHub.
