I was able to add the planned sale of rental property but seems it doesn't automatically retire the mortgage?

Seems like it should end the income and expenses related to the property and square the debt, add proceeds to income at cap gains rate, etc...

I'm retiring in the summer, gave my notice to my American boss.

He was incredulous... asked what I would do for health insurance at 51 without a job.

It made me realize a few big things that make Canadian retirement different.

- Health Care

- CPP (forced pension, but you'll appreciate it someday!)

- Spousal RRSP (not sure if Americans have an equivalent but income splitting is sweet)

- Pension income splitting when you get there

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a lot of Americans can and do FIRE, just different considerations
