Flying with backpack

I have a Gregory Baltoro 75 that has heavily molded hip belts. When flying with this type of pack how do you protect them and prevent them from getting broken? We used to live in the western USA and we would always drive to our trailheads, but now we have moved east and are taking our first flight with our packs. I know many people put their packs in duffles, but that doesn’t solve the hip belt problem that is more specific to the Gregory packs.

Post Party

We had a great 4th of July party, I hope you all did as well. First big ish party I have thrown since we owned the pool. Lots of people in and out, no disasters or spills. Great time. Do you do anything special the next day after heavy use? Extra dose of chlorine?

CYA in range!

Ok chemistry peeps. I finally got my CYA levels down to 50. I was at 130. I switched to liquid chlorine in April. I have taken advantage of the rain we have had this spring and every time we had significant rainfall I just drained to the bottom of the skimmer and let the rain refill. Boom. So here I am now with mostly balanced chemistry. I have a 20K gallon pool. I don’t want the CYA’s to fall out the bottom now and have the other problem. (I don’t think it will, but). I still have a whole Costco bucket of 3” tabs. Should I throw 1 tab in my floater at a time. Or just use the tabs for when I am on vacation. Or just sell them get some money. What would you all do?

FC: 7.0
CC: 0.0
pH: 7.6
TA: 60
CH: 400
CYA: 50
Temp: 88°F

Southeast Houston disc golf

I am new to the southeast Houston area. Are there any courses right now that are not overrun by mosquitoes. I don’t mind the occasional pest, but man they are out in full force right now. Challenger 7 and Briscoe are impossible right now, and my guess is the pair of courses at Jack Brooks are as well. Anything out there on a little higher dry ground that are not miserable?

Headset

My son (19) is doing his check ride next week. I will then probably be flying with him occasionally in a Cessna 172N. What would you guys recommend for me, the occasional rider for a comfortable, nice headset, but I do t need to spend a bunch of money. It won’t need to stand up to daily or even weekly wear and tear so I am more concerned with comfort and audio quality. But again does not have to be “the best”. I am looking for bang for the buck and am willing to make sacrifices a regular pilot would not make.

Rain chlorine

I’ve seen some of you post that you add extra chlorine when it rains. For a 20,000 gallon pool how much extra would you be adding? Houston, TX

Liquid chlorine sales

Has anyone seen any good Memorial Day sales on liquid chlorine? Or anything else that we should stock up on or just have in general?

Car insurance for Daughter

I tried to follow some of the other reimbursement threads but I did not quickly find a similar situation. Basically I fronted $1300 for my daughter's car insurance because it is cheaper to pay in lump sum than to do monthly payments. Now she is paying me. How should I account for this? I don't necessarily want to add it to my Car insurance category, that would mess up my normal targets and tracking.
