Can someone educate me on snake skins?

I’ve seen python, rattlesnake, water snake, and a few other types of snake skins out there but don’t really know the difference between them besides the different patterns. Even then rattlesnakes sometimes have a different pattern to them depending whether it’s the belly or back?

I’m looking to purchase a new pair of boots in snake skins but don’t really know what to look out for to really appreciate the boot fully.

are some snakes more expensive than others? Depending on their patterns?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Alternatives?

I love this type of boot, the narrow cutter toe look and the tall heel. Any boots like this in python that you guys could recommend? I would love to get these but I already have 2 pairs of ostrich and one pair is in gray (round toe). These are the Ariat futurity.

Rios of Mercedes - Stingray Boots

Got my first pair of stingrays today in the mail! Idk how I feel about the pointed toe look on me though. Maybe I have to dress them up a little more, like some nice slacks at least.

BOTD - Dan Post Milwaukee

Ran some errands today and decided to finally wear these from that one JC Penny deal a few weeks ago!

I bought my Dan Post Ostrich boots from the JC Penny sale but haven’t worn them yet!

I’m currently cleaning / conditioning all my boots. Should I condition the new ones already? I’d use Bick 4 right?

What are some websites where I can get myself a nice pair of elephant boots without breaking the $700 mark?

I really like these but they’re almost $1k

Started my academy for the fire department on July of 2025 and we got issued these Ariat boots. They’ve been beat up, scratched, drowned, covered in mud; been through it all and so far they’ve been holding up extremely well.

These will probably be the ones we have to wear for our graduation that’s coming up soon since we won’t be getting new boots until September. A little bit of Kiwi will get them shining like new again.

If anyone’s considering on getting some ariat work boots for work, I’ll be one of many to tell you, they’ll definitely last.
