Finally Broke My Podcast Rut.

I hadn’t really listened to podcasts for almost a year. I just lost the desire, and nothing I came across was interesting enough to pull me back in.

A few days ago, though, I stumbled upon Hunting the Suicide Salesman. I had already listened to the first season, Hunting Warhead, which is still one of, if not the best podcast I’ve ever listen to. So I had to give season two a try, and it didn’t disappoint.

That sent me down the rabbit hole again.
Next, I listened to Adults in the Room, which I really enjoyed, followed by Love Trap, which was a solid listen and kept me wanting more.

Today I finished Sea of Lies, It instantly became one of my all time favorites. I genuinely couldn’t stop listening.

It’s great to be excited about podcasts again.
So now I’m curious. What outstanding true crime podcasts have I missed over the past year? I’d love to hear your recommendations.
And finally, thanks to this community. I’ve always enjoyed reading the discussions and discovering new shows here, so it’s good to be back.

Loving Love Trapped so far, but the ads are making it hard to enjoy.

I’m currently listening to a podcast called Love Trapped and I’m on episode 6 right now.
First of all, please don’t spoil anything in the comments. I went into this story knowing absolutely nothing, and I’d like to keep it that way.
Overall, I’m really enjoying it and I’d definitely recommend it. The story is engaging enough that I keep coming back for the next episode. However, the one thing that’s making the experience less enjoyable for me is the amount of ads.
I completely understand that ads help support the creators, and I have no problem with podcasts running advertisements. But in this case, it honestly feels like a bit too much. If I’m sitting down and listening, I can skip them, but most of the time I’m listening while driving and don’t have my hands free to constantly skip ahead. It gets frustrating when the flow of the story is interrupted so often.
There have been several moments where I’ve found myself tempted to stop listening altogether and just look up what happened online because I wanted to get back to the story. So far I’ve resisted and decided it’s better to finish the podcast properly, because I do genuinely enjoy it.

Books after a massive let dwon

I recently broke up with my gf who i loved unconditionally just to realise that she never loved me, she was just using me financially and she was talking to other guys behind my back. My self image has been shattered and i feel a bit lost and misguided. Is there any book that can make me feel better. Preferably non fiction and self help but not novels.
Thank you
