Hi current respiratory therapists :) First of all, js wanna say how important you are in your work environment!

i am an aspiring RT student and am planning on getting my AAS in Respiratory Care at a CC. I would like to get my bachelors shortly after and I know there are online bachelors degree for RT —> BSRT. Is there anyone that can provide insight on this pathway, the pros/cons of it, is it worth it? In terms of gradually moving up and getting more $? Is there anyone who got a bachelors in another major and landed a career that benefited them with also being an RT?

I also heard that RT can open other doors such as ECMO specialist, cath lab, PFT tech.

How about management wise? Lead rt? RT director? Anyone here that’s within this category that can provide their insight?

I am currently in the Chicagoland area/Northwest suburbs. Anyone from around here that is an RT that is willing to share their new grad pay? I know there’s a google doc shared on reddit of individuals inputting their pay but I would like to hear what peoples’ new grad pay vs experience :)

So, I am conflicted. I was told specifically Illinois Medicaid Blue Cross Community Health Plan Zepbound can be covered with prior authorization. Then I was told that Zepbound is not at all part of the program for drugs to be covered even with a PA. I understand that if your doctor outs down weight loss as a primary factor to use Zepbound, it will be automatically denied. However, I have Obstructive Sleep apnea, BMI higher of 30, prediabetes.

Is there any individual that has IL Medicaid Blue Cross CHP and got Zepbound covered?

I was wondering if there is anyone who commutes at least 45+ mins to Dupage? Solely for the reason because they are in a program? I am currently waiting on an acceptance decision at COD Respiratory Care’s program and I applied late to other closer colleges so I didn’t get in. However, COD is my second choice due to the high pass rates but the only reason it isn’t my #1 is because I live in the Skokie area so that’s about 30 miles. I am getting anxious about having to drive that distance back and forth for 2 years straight. Btw, I do have a car, but ehhh im just anxious. Is it worth the drive?

Hi! I recently applied to triton’s RC program for Fall 2026 but havent heard back.. I know they just returned their program not long ago. Has anyone received any acceptances? Are there anyone from a different cohort that can give insight on Triton’s program? TIA
