Canceling because of cognitive friction
iPhone Air: ios 27 beta 2 - everything seems To work fine save for transcription. And that’s why I’m canceling.
Example, UX flow Was great at first. with devel intelligence and the way I pretty much need to work is by voice, and when I am dictating about half the time, it does not capture the dictation even though the record feature may have recorded five or 10 minutes of audio when I go to hit the checkmark, it doesn’t transcribe at all. This problem is worse when iOS sleeps the display.
Because of my neurological condition, I am not typing out a book on a tiny ass shitty keyboard. If I have a book’s worth of information to share, I need to trust the transcription feature is going to capture it all regardless of the sleep state of the screen.
Holding my thumb on the screen effectively solved the display sleep problem, but it still failed to record transcriptions three times this morning.
Other Apps can reliably record and transcribe audio without issue.
Idea of bevel is great and the UI is gorgeous. I think some features like workout are a little overly ambitious and need not be in the initial product release. Bevon intelligence is OK, but I think it would have been better served to make use of Apple’s new native intelligence to see if that is good enough for the task and keep everything inside Apple health.
I uploaded some medical information with some trepidation about where it will live. As much value as I’m getting out of Bevel, I can’t have a critical feature (for me) failing like that. I hope I can delete my account and all data associated with it.
