Why will my right rear window roll down but not up?

2010 Hyundai Elantra

The right passenger window will roll down using the drivers switch, but won’t roll up. It won’t do anything when using the passenger door switch. I confirmed the window mechanism works, the motor works in both directions (tested with a 9v battery), and the port that powers the motor is outputting 12v and -12v when controlled via the passenger window switch (measured with a multimeter).

So I’m baffled. It doesn’t seem as simple as supplying the motor with 12v. It’s like something is happening once everything is assembled that either keeps the motor from receiving the 12v or something is causing the voltage to not go to the motor.

E line rant

I ride most of the western portion of the E line nearly everyday to Union Station to catch a MetroLink.

There should NOT be a 10-15 minute difference on when the train reaches Union Station depending on 1) how many red lights you happen to hit and 2) how many times the operator opens the doors to let stragglers on the train.

I believe there is a plan for signal priority, but I don’t think it’s scheduled to be done for over a year…and that’s if it’s on time. Do we know if this will change the lights before the train reaches the intersection or will it just allow the train to wait for less time?

Until schedule reliability on the E line improves a lot, it’s hard to use the E line in a fashion that requires some reasonable level of it. It’s a bummer because it has soooo much potential. Hopefully it can be fixed.

That’s all. Can’t wait to ride again tomorrow.
