Kabul Map Coastline Mission

I have been painting on the Kabul Map well before this subreddit was created, mostly to refine the coastlines, which had been initially low-resolution. I used this image prepared specifically for the Kabul Map as a reference, which includes coasts, lakes, and national and subnational borders. The data was derived from Tom Patterson and Nathaniel Vaughn Kelso's Natural Earth 6.0. The map uses the Robinson projection, centered at 10 degrees east.

To use this reference, it may need to be split to fit within Wplace's template size limits. National borders are dark and subnational borders are regular; otherwise, light colors are used. For the coast, paint all teal pixels and the green pixels that are adjacent to ocean pixels. For small islands, the ocean pixels adjacent to the land and teal pixels are used as the coast. For an example, reference the second image.

  • Olive: land
  • Green: land coast
  • Teal: ocean coast
  • White/Gray: ocean
  • Blue: lake
  • Cyan: lake coast

Here are some concerns regarding the Coastline Mission:

  • Though not all political borders on the Kabul map reflect reality, borders should be revised to match the reference exactly where they roughly follow the real borders.
  • Some parts of the world, especially away from the central meridian, are offset from the reference by as much as a dozen pixels. It would take a lot more effort to realign the geography in such regions than others.
  • Many fictional lands are on the map, and a few of them interfere with real isles. Examples of affected islands lands include Cabo Verde and Fernando de Noronha (off the coast of Brazil).
  • Some nations may use their own references. If they are not based on this one, the coastline may not align properly.
  • Art may also interfere with the placement of some islands. Such art should be relocated out of the way of islands, but if not feasible, consider placing a box containing the islands and an arrow pointing to the correct location.
  • Some griefers may sink islands or landforms. An offshore pattern (see example on second image) may hinder their efforts, but it does not guarantee safety. Focus on restoring the coast.

Since the map has only geographical data and no flags, others may create regional reference maps including flags based off of this one. I could also provide maps showing cities, rivers, etc. Not all subnational borders and lakes need to be painted.

Fractal 8lock World: Vriska and Company

I created my first Fractal Block World mod on 8/8 by replacing the default spider texture with Vriska, then proceeding to replace more spider textures with other Scorpio trolls... today is the last day of Vriska's month, so I decided to post some screenshots and the textures used
