If we close all 3 accounts (checking, savings, personal line of credit) will it automatically remove our access to online banking and the app? Or do we need to request that

I’m helping my grandfather close his joint checking, savings and personal line of credit. My grandmother has been passed away for a few years and she’s the other joint owner and he’s in his 80s and didn’t know he needed to let them know. But what can we expect when calling to close all the accounts? Would we need her death certificate or anything from her side of things to close all of these over the phone if all accounts are at $0.00? Since it’s joint is it even worth mentioning she’s passed?
