ATM Check Deposit

I deposited a check on July 3rd at a local Wells Fargo ATM. I was expecting it the following day but forgot the following day was a Holiday. Is it possible for the check to hit tomorrow (07/06/2026) or would there be a delay for check approval due to the fourth of July weekend? I'm curious as it is showing the check as a pending deposit when i check my balance at a Wells Fargo ATM. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Active cash $300 SUB for prime checking

I recently upgraded to prime checking and when I logged into my acct I saw an active cash $300 SUB for $500 spend, higher than the usual $200. I don’t have the AC and was planning to get this, but when I log in now I see the standard $200 SUB!! I thought this elevated offer was for prime checking account holders, looks like I was wrong.

Will this SUB return or did I miss my chance?

Premier Debit Card

Is the premier checking account debit card restricted from using design studio?

Update: I just got off the phone with my premier checking account agent and she said premier is included in the restriction since the premier debit card is an unique card too even though it is not listed on the restricted list.

I got a shady payment and wells Fargo wants 30 dollars to do a stop payment.

I feel this is horrible business practice as I have to pay to not lose money like how does that make any sense. I swear if they charge me for one of my older stop payments I'm going to sue the hell out of wells Fargo.

Account Closing Question

If we close all 3 accounts (checking, savings, personal line of credit) will it automatically remove our access to online banking and the app? Or do we need to request that

Closing 3 accounts

I’m helping my grandfather close his joint checking, savings and personal line of credit. My grandmother has been passed away for a few years and she’s the other joint owner and he’s in his 80s and didn’t know he needed to let them know. But what can we expect when calling to close all the accounts? Would we need her death certificate or anything from her side of things to close all of these over the phone if all accounts are at $0.00? Since it’s joint is it even worth mentioning she’s passed?

Conflicting info on this new checking cash bonus offer.

From the information on the mailer it seems like once the deposit requirements are met I will receive the bonus within 30 days. But I’ve spoken to two reps on the phone one when I first made the account and the other after the deposit posted and they both seemed to be referencing a different bonus incentive where you have to wait a full 90 days before they will begin processing your bonus. The confusion is that the mailer only says you have 90 to complete the deposits but says nothing about needing the account open for a full 90 days to receive the bonus. If anyone here is familiar with this your insight will be much appreciated. Either way the bonus works I will update this when I receive it to confirm how long it actually took to receive.

Wells Fargo Device Block

Has anyone had or heard of an issue where a bank, specifically Wells Fargo, will completely block a phone from having their issued cards added to it?

I have a Pixel 9 Pro XL and with some back and forth between Wells Fargo and Google, apparently Wells Fargo has my phone on a bad device list preventing any card from being added to my phone.

I have been able to add all my other credit cards from other financial institutions with no issue, this issue is with WF alone. I even asked the support agent, if I hypothetically opened a new credit card with them and added the card, would it work. He told me no since this block is on the device level.

Why is only WF having issue with this phone? It is carrier locked phone, and I have never reported fraudulent activity with these accounts; of which the support agent tells me it is on this list because of "potential" fraudulent activity. He also tells me that this decision is permanent.

Thanks for any info or feedback.

Beware: Scam Call Using Wells Fargo’s Real Phone Number (spoofed)(Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX)

I got a scam call today that appeared to come from the Wells Fargo phone number listed on Google for the Greenville Ave branch in Dallas.

The caller claimed he was from Wells Fargo’s fraud department and said there were two fraudulent credit card transactions on my account - one for $1,500 and another for $3,500. He asked if I authorized them. I said no.

He then gave me a “transaction code” and two “cancellation codes,” saying he would transfer me to the cancellation department so they could stop the transactions.

That’s when I was transferred to a woman who claimed she was from Zelle. One of the first red flags was that she kept pronouncing Zelle as “Zee-lee.”

She told me I needed to manually cancel the transaction and asked me to open my Wells Fargo app. I told her I only have a Wells Fargo credit card, not a checking account. She then asked if I use Zelle through another bank. I said yes, through Bank of America.

This is where it got really suspicious. She instructed me to:

  1. Open my Bank of America app.
  2. Go to Zelle.
  3. Add a new recipient.
  4. She said I’d receive a verification code but not to tell it to her.
  5. Then she told me to send money to that recipient using the “cancellation code” 00034437.

At that point I said, “Bullshit. I’m not stupid.”

I told her the only reason I’d stayed on the call was because it looked like Wells Fargo had called me directly and transferred me to her. She kept insisting that sending the money was how the transaction would be canceled. I refused and said I’d rather go to the bank in person and call Bank of America myself.

She even offered to transfer me to a Bank of America manager, but I firmly said no. By then she sounded desperate and was practically shouting, trying to get me to complete the transfer. I hung up.

Right after the call, I dialed the same Wells Fargo number that had called me and spoke with a real banker. He told me they’ve received a lot of calls today from customers reporting the exact same scam.

These scammers are getting smarter. They can spoof legitimate phone numbers, so don’t trust caller ID alone. If you get a call like this, hang up and call your bank using the number on the back of your card or from the bank’s official website.
Stay safe out there.

2 Day Early Pay tomorrow July 3rd?

Is it possible to still get my 2 day early pay tomorrow? I know banks will be closed. My paydays are usually Monday, but I ALWAYS get my pay early on Friday's. Like - for 5 years I have on the dot. But, last check fell on Juneteenth weekend and it came Monday. So I wasn't sure if this weekend would be the same due to it being an "observed" holiday day, instead of an actual holiday.

Wells Fargo denied my $1,500 fraud claim, I fought back and won. here's what to do.

April 1st 2026 was traveling home through the airport and my debit contactless card was ghost tapped. I only discovered the issue the following morning when I noticed I received text alerts from Wells Fargo indicating that there was high risk activity on my account , then I saw $50 denied, and so on (when I didn't use that card for anything the day before) . I immediately logged in and noticed that the person that ghost tapped my account had managed to bet $1,500 through BET365.

I called Wells Fargo and had them cancel that card promptly and filed the fraud charges for all the transactions connected with BET365, which included two deposits one at $712 and the second was $680. I told Wells Fargo " I don't gamble, and that I didn't spend the money and I didn't win it" I told Wells Fargo they can look at my entire history of banking with them (since 2018). I received a letter of denial May 1st and Wells Fargo indicated that they would be removing the $1,400 provisional credit May 15th.

I called them and disputed saying so you're going to credit me one $100 charge but not the other pones that add up to $1,400 all from the same organization and Wells Fargo also deducted the disputed $1392 (total of the $680 and $712) credited again from BET 365. The letter reasoning for denial was that I had possession of my debit card at the time of the claim and the time of the transactions. I told them I know, I TOLD YOU THAT I NEVER LOST MY CARD IT WAS GHOST TAPPED WHILE I WAS TRAVELING THROUGH THE AIRPORTS!

I believe they teach their customer service people to "fish" for things so they can blame YOU and make you the victim a second time! This is what I mean, while I was disputing with the rep. she said they had evidence, I asked what evidence she then said , you paid through your google pay or your apple pay. Well I don't have either of those two so I knew it was a lie.

I told her I want them to send me their proof, I was informed it would take 30 days in the mail. Frustrated I searched and found A LOT of similar issues other people have had with Wells Fargo and I read some of the advice.

One suggestion was to file with the CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau) , in order to file with them the case has to have been closed and 45 days since you filed the complaint with the institution in this case Wells Fargo.

I waited the time frame and filed with CFPB attaching my banking statements for 18 months, my travel itinerary ,my flight ticket, a letter of statement with a time line and Wells Fargo's letter of denial which they then notified Wells Fargo of the complaint. Then it was back to the same B.S. just at a different level the escalation team, that gave my case just as little time to look in to as the first go round with them.

May 29th I received a phone call from the escalation team (Ashley) now and she said we're honoring the original denial. I asked why, she went on to ask me well did you loos you're phone (ha,! remember me telling you about this ""fishing" they do in order to find a way to accuse you of your account and money being stolen!) I told her no, then she says oh, well yeah that was it, by biometrics, do you have facial recognition or finger print ? because that's how it was done. I said , NO, NOPE, I want you to send me the proof , I know you have none because I didn't make those charges. You'll be hearing from my attorney!

With a little more digging I discovered I did things a little out of order which is why I'm posting in an effort to help any one else that encounters similar issues.

First, once you notice discover your account has been hacked and charged you did not authorize are going through your account call your bank immediately, cancel the card, and go to YOUR local police station and file a report of identity theft. your local police will need your account information, the charges you're disputing and they will give you a case number. inform your bank that you filed a police report and provide them with the report number as well. * Also note there is a time frame all this has to be done, Under Regulation E , issues under the Electronic Fund Transfer Act state you have 60 days from day zero, day zero is the date the statement is provided to you, (the date the bank delivers, send, or makes available the statement showing the transaction in question)

Bank investigation deadline generally has 10 BUSINESS days to do their investigation, up to 90 BUSINESS days for more complex cases.

The bank then will correct the error or they have to provides written explanation of WHY it disagrees.

Should you receive a denial, type up and send via. certified mail (don't call and ask for it) a letter requesting the proof of evidence the bank used to make their decision for denial. (IP addresses, times and location charged occurred, Merchant name and address, communications you had with your bank.

The request for evidence from the bank should bump your fraud claim in to the escalation team where they would then have to re-examine your fraud claim and any evidence you have provided to prove it wasn't you making those charges. This will reset the time and the bank will have a new ten business days to response vie letter.

Should they still deny the claim and no proof has been yet provided, I would then go ahead and file with the Federal Trade Commission and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, providing all the communications you've had with the bank up in to that point, their letters with reason for denial and another proof on your behalf, as well as the police report number.

The CFPB allows for max 50 pages to be added to your claim, main things I would suggest is to have a time line of events, screenshots of activity in the account, police report document and any other relevant documentation to support your claim.

I hope this helps any one that is going through being victimized twice, once by the theft that stole your identity and banking info to steel your money and second from Wells Fargo.

So how did it end for me, ? Well finally on June 26th , after I filed a police report, a claim with the FTC and sent a certified letter requesting the proof that the bank used to determine the denial with, I received a phone call from the escalation team, Leo and he said that after reopening my claim because of my request, they determined that I was correct and they put the money back in my account and I will be receiving a letter stating that. I did see that the money was put back in my account in which I am promptly closing all accounts with Wells Fargo.

Fell For A Phone Scam and Filed a Dispute Immediately after. How Likely am I to get my money back?

Hi, I fell for a phone scam where someone was pretending to be from Wells Fargo claiming that someone was trying to fraud me, and I very stupidly gave them my debit card number and sent $800 to a PayPal account. The call ended and when I tried to call back it was sent straight to voicemail. I immediately got a horrible feeling and called the number on the back of my debit card and filed a claim, telling them I was scammed. I know that I gave the info willingly, but is there a still a good chance that I will get my money back? I know that this is my fault but I want to see what my options are. Also I already ordered a new debit card, so that's no longer an issue.

Do Branch employees normally call customers directly from the banking app?

Okay i understand this is an odd question but its something that i thought about for years and will like some closure. I used to live in a very small town in Washington state. One time i went into a branch to open an account and the employee was very nice like out of her way nice explaining everything and asking if i had questions. I was there for like 30-45 mins opening a checking account which i thought was a little odd it never took that long before.

For a bit of context here i not very socially aware in general and at the time i was working remotely up in the mountains in WA growing pot and would go weeks sometimes a couple months without seeing another person.

Anyway i eventually leave and that very same day like maybe 2 hours after i left i look at my phone and see my wells fargo app was ringing like i had no idea i was so confused and thought it was a scam or glitch or something. Turns out it was the same employee that just helped me saying she just wanted to check in if i had any questions and if i possibly wanted to make an appointment to come back to the branch to discuss different accounts she thinks would be beneficial.

I never went back cause i was busy with work but like 6 years later i still wonder was she just being nice or doing her job or was it something else?

Asked for my account login User Name

I called WF and the CSR asked me for my username as part of the authentication process. I was taken aback by this, why in the world would an employee have access to this information?

There's so many other questions they could ask. I ended the call and will just go into the branch to handle the business. I was also not fond of their offer to "save my voice so they can use it to identify me in the future". This millennial is becoming a boomer.

I wonder if I need to get with the times or get a new bank?

Recession Is WFB going to be the one to lead us there?

I believe the economy is in poor shape; too many people are living on credit and soon they will not be able to pay their CC bills. Right now the only thing the economy has going for it is a strong stock market but the insane ups and downs around Iran is very suspicious.

The important part>> I think a lot of companies are overvalued. So I have been looking at what banks I think are in trouble and WFB is one I am. concerned about. The price performance over the last year is 5.4% compared to Citigroup at 62.4% that is a huge difference. I'm not sure where the safest place to keep my money is.
