Best Brazil kite spots to go Solo?

Thinking about going to Brazil solo for a month or two and would appreciate any recommendations for spots with a fun social scene, any specific kite camps or accommodation that’s especially social? I ride twin tip so mostly interested in flat water or rolling ocean swell not breaking waves.

Some salt pots and snack dishes that just came out of the kiln

Here are some pieces I had come out of the kiln recently. Love making the lidded salt pots that are thrones one piece.

I’m also a chef so they are fun gifts for friends and family.

Which spare parts should I buy for my control bar for a long kite trip?

I have a North Nav Pro - the parts aren’t too expensive so thought it might be smart to bring a backup of the parts that fail or need to replaced most often. What do you usually travel with?

I’m thinking about going to Stagnone, Sicily in late April for a few weeks solo. Would love any recommendations for places to stay that will be social ideally.

Has anyone been in April? How was the wind? Temps?

Appreciate any tips or thoughts!

I’m a 41 year old who’s going to be coming to La Ventana area solo for a few weeks in March of 2027 and would really appreciate any tips or recommendations for which area to stay in. Or specific hotels, Airbnbs you’ve really liked?

My most recent pieces from the kiln

A set of dog bowls, a set of lidded vessels, a vase and a little salt pot all in Shipwreck I just got out of the kiln.

Favorite kite spots to spend a month+

Would love any recommendations for kite spots anywhere in the world with consistent wind, good social scene, good food (I’m a chef) that would be fun to spend multiple weeks to multiple months. I was kiting in Sri Lanka this past winter for a few weeks and felt like I could have stayed for months.

General Luna - Siargao, Philippines

Looking at possible spots to kite in the Philippines and General Luna in looks amazing but haven’t found much information about kiting there as it’s considered more of a surf spot. The huge bay inside the reef looks like a perfect kiting spot.

Has anyone been? How’s the bottom? Is General Luna a fun area to spend a few weeks?

Looking for somewhere cheap and fun to kite for a few weeks and Boracay looks too busy to me. Would appreciate any other spots that might be a good alternative. Thinking January/Feb 2027. Thanks!

New North Navigator 2027 control bars are so ugly and almost exactly the same as the previous 2024?

I’m very surprised by the colors North chose for their new control bars that just came out. The red and blue with the white and black really clash in my opinion.

Then I was reading the specs and it seems like the only change other than the colors is the grip material and internal structure of the bar. Doesn’t seem like much of an upgrade. Is that just because the previous pro bar is close to perfect?

Phan Rang Tides

Would love some information from people who have kited in Phan Rang Vietnam - specifically about the tides and how many hours a day were kiteable? I’ve read that there are days when high tide is at night so all day is too shallow to ride inside the reef.

Were the tides and it being too shallow an issue at all? Were there days where you couldn’t flat water kite at all because it wasn’t deep enough.

How much coral is in the water? Is it something that can be easily avoided or kind of all over the flat water area?

Favorite place you stayed? Kite camp or separate lodging?

Thanks so much!

Will Allula allow me to have a bigger gap between kite sizes in my quiver?

I’m buying new kites and am wondering if I can get away with 4 or even 5 sizes between kites if they’re three strut allula being that the allula helps extend both the low and high end of a kite with the added bonus of being light for travel.

I’ve ridden a 15 juice dlab that could twin tip from 7/8 to 18/20knots and a have used a buddy’s 10m allula that flys well from the mid teens on a larger board to 27/28knots on my smaller board. I want to get a fun quiver that will be good for travel and i don’t think I’ll have room for three kites but would like to cover a big wind range overall. Could i get away with something similar?

Really appreciate any insights.

Best roller luggage to hold kite gear? (I have a split board)

I want to travel with my new split board and kites to Asia this winter. Anyone who travels with their gear in regular luggage, what bags have you found to be well made and hold up? A little worried about a zipper protecting thousands of dollars in gear.

Favorite smaller town in Spain.

Would really appreciate recommendations of your favorite beautiful, delicious, smaller towns in Spain to visit.

I’m a chef so love regional food and wine. Would like to get away from the tourist crowds and see more of the real country.

Thanks so much!
