Is there a way to tell if my side effects will improve as my pupils shrink with age?

I got LASIK 3.5 years ago. I have some minor side effects (starbursts from car headlights and fluorescent bulbs). Recently, I suffered from some dry eye. The optician I visited told me I had large pupils, and was a bad candidate for LASIK (was complete news to me...).

I've read online side effects can be caused by pupil-size mismatch relative to the treatment area. Does anyone know if there's a way to test if my pupils shrinking with age might help? Only way I can think is to see a doctor and get some drops to shrink them, and see if that helps.

I'm about to turn 37. I'm aware this will probably take a decade or more, if it helps at all.

Is there any downside to getting punctal plugs? Is it worth diving into after a few months of dry eye?

I got lasik 3.5 years ago. Recently, I slept with a desk fan pointed at my head (I was moving house and hauled up in a sweat box), and I think that triggered some dry eye. It's been going on for 2 months.

I paid to see a private eye doctor who suggested plugs, but I'm wondering if it's worth jumping into so soon? They are a little pricey. And I think the dry eye is getting a little better, I had a day of intense light sensitivity a month ago, and it hasn't been that intense since.

Then again, I can afford it, so if there's no downside, I might just go with it plus the special drops the doctor suggested.
