Why can’t I ever put my weight in my heels

I used to ride western and had no problem putting my weight down in my stirrups and sitting deep in the canter. Now I feel like I can’t even sit the canter (same horse that I used to ride western) or push my legs down for balance.

Yes I’ve worked with a trainer, but only taking like one lesson a month, and riding on my own the other weeks. I’m starting a lesson program soon which I know will help as their program’s “goal” is to develop a good seat essentially

Penn West Online clinicals

Hi! Does anyone know how the Penn west online masters clinicals and externships work? Like number of hours and days and when they occur?

work hours + school + money

This is rly random, but, here is my situation.
- Just finished my bachelors at 20 y/o debt free.
- moved back home with my parents.
- working M-F 8am-12pm (15$ an hour)
- also working M-F 3pm-7pm (20.75$ an hour)
(So I’m already at 40 hours/week but odd schedule).

- starting SLP post bachelors program online at pennwest during fall 2026 and spring 2027 (paying for this out of pocket and continuing both my jobs)
- fall 2027: start my online masters at pennwest during west (if I get in), which will last until summer 2029.
- during my masters, I plan to stay at my evening job (20 hours per week 20.75$ per hour). This will give tuition reimbursement: $5000 for my entire post bachelors (a little less than half the tuition total). and $8,750 for my masters (the total masters cost is around $35,000 for 20 month long program).
- I will take out some loans for my masters

ANYWAYS, the main issue:
- I want to lease a horse. The cost is $200 per month. Is this too much for me to spend right now?
- The second option is: work Sundays 6-2 (16$ per hour) at a college barn and ride for free there. Do I have the time to do this?? (This would just be in summers and winter breaks)
