Mommy and Me PJ dilemma
So this seems like it should be easy but it’s been a heck of a challenge. I am looking for mommy (and grandma) and me pajamas that aren’t a synthetic silk. We need adult sizes M and L or XL, and child size 4/5. Ideally they’d be button down and have pockets (my daughter is obsessed with pockets). Many of the Amazon mommy and me sets start at size T6 and I think that would fall off my 3.5 year old (about 40 pounds). Other sets on Amazon are out of size M and/or will take 1-2 months to ship. The boutique brands often cost $80-100/set per adult which at this point I’m considering because I’ve had no luck elsewhere. It’s hard to pay that price when the kids version is a tshirt and legging shorts bc m daughter likes roomier pajamas. Many of them are also nauseatingly feminine (pink curly bows atop cherries for example) which is not our style but what choice do we have? I wish the Amazon brand Ekouaer had kids sizes - it’s synthetic material but not as hot and cheap feeling as the silky stuff.
Any ideas where I can get reasonably priced matching pajamas for moms and daughters that are a soft fabric we won’t overheat in?
This is meant to be a gift to my mom for her upcoming bday since we used to have matching Pjs bust she accidentally left hers behind on a trip we all took together. Any help would be appreciated!
Scuppers
Have you ever learned a word only to then hear it all the time? I’ve been watching below deck for yeaaaars and never registered this word until rewatching a season and a primary’s dog’s name was Scupper, and a crew member made a comment about how the primary must be super into boating to name his dog that. Now I hear the word in almost every episode and wonder how I’ve gone so long without ever “hearing” it. Anyone else have this experience with the word scupper or another specific term?
How does budgeting for provisions work?
I’m rewatching season 7 and Chef Kevin didn’t make enough mains for a meal. Lee was pissed at him and said something along the lines of “it’s not like you’re limited on budget. Why would you only order just enough?” Is the cost of food and drink included in the charter fee? Are some things included but if they order some expensive alcohol then it’s added on top? What kind of budget does the chef and chief stew need to work within for provisions? So curious how much they spend per day or per charter or per guest on f&b. Also, when they do fireworks or bring on massage therapists, or heck have to order a medic (Brandy!), is that tacked on the bill at the end?
PSA: don’t set slime on your head
Ok maybe this goes without saying. I thought I was being playful putting a blob of slime on top of my head for literally 3 seconds as my girl and I were playing with a big blue blob of it. She handed me a portion, I set it on various parts of my body (shoulder, knee, foot, and eventually head). It immediately got super molded with my hair and I’ve spent the last 30 mins working it out. I had to put my head I the sink and use dish soap to extract it. 😑 be better than me.
Deckhand as a dishwasher?
So I’ve always wondered why a deckhand isn’t helping out as a dishwasher. The chef is alone usually on service, though I know recently we have galley hands. I’m rewatching s3 and during dinner service the deck crew is just kind of lingering. The whole interior crew is all hands on deck for service so I get why they can’t lend a hand, but why don’t they assign a member of the deck crew ever to help with dishes to help out the chef?
