My cat spotted him crawling up the curtains inside the house, my sisters think he's a baby tarantula

He's inside a quart mason jar, his body is maybe quarter sized?? His legs could maybe span my palm when he was climbing and more relaxed

We're in El Paso County, Colorado

Also, what would be the best place to let him go? In the bushes? Under the porch? I want to make sure he's in a safe spot after being traumatized in a jar like this
