First time homebuyer, working on installing missing drainage runs from gutters and noticed this

Pretty unfamiliar with the exterior of a homes maintenance and upkeep, but I noticed the gutters were missing some drainage runs so I set out to replace them today. While I was about to start working on this one, I noticed vents and some separation in areas of the underhang from the roof.

Can anyone help out with explaining what these vents are for and how serious the separation and spots seen in these pictures are?
This seems pretty isolated to 2 areas of the underhang both near where an addition was previously built onto the house.

The attic was dry when we did inspection about 2 months ago after a week or so of rain every day. Haven’t been up there since move in.

Thanks!

Roast my swing. 20 Handicap

Looking for some advice on what I can do to improve my swing. My latest changes have been holding the club significantly less tight, focusing on starting to feel weight shift to my front foot halfway up the back swing, and not dipping my front leg during the backswing (still seem some evidence in this video)

I really struggle with getting my driver to not slice. Iron game has been feeling much better. 18 birdies has me at a 19.7 handicap after logging 40 rounds.

Edit: I think my true handicap would be closer to 32 averaging 100-105 on 18 holes. I’ve learned 18 birdies handicap system is way too generous.

Any advice is appreciated! Thanks.

Over the last couple of years I’ve fallen back in love with golf and really want to get to consistently breaking 85. Started playing back in high school in 2010 then stopped around 2014 and picked it back up a couple of years ago.

Up until about 3 weeks ago I was playing with the same set I used back in high school. They were WAY too short for me and I think I developed some bad habits playing with them the last couple of years.

The new set I picked up are stiff shaft TaylorMade SIM Maxs with 1” added to all clubs. Self measuring using a sizing chart I found online this matches up with the 37.5” length between my wrist and the ground with arms at my sides.

The new clubs feel so so much better than the sports authority tour collection clubs I was previously using. I’m hitting the ball better much more consistently but I still can’t find distance. When I play I expect to get 150 yards with my 5 iron and ten yards less for each club down. My drive is between 190 and 210.

Guys in the league I play in are consistently hitting 230-260 yard drives and play their 5 iron like a safe 190-210 yard club. The difference feels significant.

I feel there is something fundamentally wrong with my swing to have such short distances. I’m a 24 handicap.

Please help me understand what I should be working on.
