Darts Surging In Japan

Definitely have bias here, but it feels like darts is on the rise (esp in Japan). I started like 2 and a half months ago and become addicted. Coming from a basketball background its like playing the freethrow game, 21.

Most of this sub may be from Europe although so maybe its just the soft tip effect.

With Luke Littler helping move hard tip darts somewhat back into the spotlight - and whenever I go to darts bar in Japan (albeit soft tip) there are always people, they always have their own darts. What do you guys think?

The game has tons of rooms to grow but I always wonder why its not. Easier to set up than a basketball hoop or soccer goal posts in your home.

Is it because a starter set of darts is slightly expensive? Is it because there is no way to play defense (in the same way of 100m sprint or diving, there is a dedicated community). Is there maybe a game mode yet to be created that can push darts further.

Pure conjecture, feel free to input anything.

Shinagawa Immigration Visa Renewal Experience

Just went to Shinagawa Immigration yesterday to pick up my new Zairyu. Despite what many have said about it being extremely slow it only took about a month after applying.

For background (I am Canadian, finished Japanese school - N2 pass, BBA Degree in Canada, 2 years work experience in tech, got a job in a foreign facing role for an import export company). Funnily enough when I applied, I only had a scanned version of my diploma for them. I was waiting for a letter telling me to bring a real transcript in. Never came, they never asked. I'm also pretty sure I was late to paying health insurance at least 2 times just because i got busy and forgot. So there might be some paranoia around Visa renewal but for how many times I dropped the ball, it really didn't affect much if anything (pr is a different story). Maybe that's due to my foreign (North American) background.

If you are going to apply for visa renewal. Book an appointment for sure. Before 10. Make sure you get your photo done proper because if its not good enough, you get sent to the no-appointment line and by the time youre done with the photobooth that line will take you 3+ hours.

If you are picking up, arrive 10 minutes before they open. I got there around 10:30 and ended up waiting for like 3 and a half hours even though the sign said 120 minutes. If you lost your application receipt, you are fine just hand them the postcard w the revenue stamp, passport and zairyu.

Double Eye-Lids Correlated to Fatigue Only?

So I know there is a thing where people get double eye lids as they get older. I used to have one for my left eye but monolid right eye. When I was tired it would be both. Then around a year ago it just started being both all the time.

In the same vein, I have also slept less than I used to. I moved to Japan and have slept a lot less than when I used to live in Canada. I know there is a thing where as people get older they get double eye lid but I was wondering if that is strictly correlated to sleep. (As people get older they take on more responsibilities, kids, work etc) so because of the natural lack of sleep the double eyelids stay.

Like if tomorrow I stopped working, going to the gym and getting 8 and a half hours of sleep every day for the next 2 years would this change revert?
