Senior Chief Special Warfare Operator Matthew Coufalik retired from the U.S. military in 2016 following a 20 year career. His extensive service included eight years at SEAL Team 2 and ten years at the Naval Special Warfare Development Group.

During his career, he was also part of the U.S. Special Operations forces involved in Operation Neptune Spear, the mission that resulted in the death of Osama bin Laden. Senior Chief Coufalik has 13 combat deployments in support of missions such as Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and various other global assignments.

His exceptional service earned him accolades including the Silver Star Medal, three Bronze Star Medals with combat valor, three Joint Service Commendation Medals with combat valor, two Navy and Marine Commendation Medals with combat valor, the Defense Meritorious Service Award, three Presidential Unit Citations, and numerous other joint and individual awards. He enlisted in the Navy in 1996 completing SEAL training in 1997.

For heroic achievement in connection with combat operations against the enemy as an Assault Team Member for a Joint Task Force in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM from 19 October 2008 to 10 February 2009.

During this period, Petty Officer First Class Houston conducted high-risk combat operations in the area of responsibility. On the night of 26 November 2008, Petty Officer First Class Houston and his Joint fire team came under significant enemy fire from several insurgents while conducting a raid targeting a key Taliban leader. Petty Officer First Class Houston led his team's response, immediately returning and suppressing the enemy fire. During the engagement, enemy combatants were using a tunnel within the compound to attempt to flank the assault force.

Petty Officer First Class Houston realized this grave threat to his teammates and led his team's high-risk clearance of the tunnel. As they cleared the tunnel, Petty Officer First Class Houston was wounded but continued leading his team, neutralizing the enemy combatants and securing his unit's flank. Largely due to his intrepid leadership on this objective, his unit removed numerous enemies from the battlefield and eliminated a Taliban bombing cell.

By his extraordinary guidance, zealous initiative, and total dedication to duty, Petty Officer First Class Houston reflected great credit upon himself and upheld the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.

In 1995, Jon applied to SEAL training and was one of only eight original candidates out of 220 to complete training. He began his career at SEAL Team Four conducting counterdrug missions in South America. After 9/11 he selected for Development group and went to Red Squadron

With over eleven combat deployments, Jon has led multiple teams of over 250 personnel, synchronizing them with critical assets and conducting nightly combat missions throughout Iraq and Afghanistan. Jon commanded cross functional teams to conduct highly complex no fail operations, achieving total success by identifying unconventional solutions to address the most sensitive national security requirements. Throughout his time, he recognized the critical requirement of adapting with foreign culture to work together for common goals

His decorations include the Bronze Star with V device (four awards), Defense Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal with V device (two awards), Navy Commendation Medal with V device (two awards), Combat Action Ribbons, Two Presidential Unit Citations

Roy served 25 years in the Navy. He graduated with BUD/S Class 147 which at the time was the third class ever to have no one quit during Hell Week

He spent a total of 21 years in the Teams and spent 10 years at DEVGRU Red Squadron
