so i (m17) thought it would be a good idea for my sister ((9f) As of now)) to have youtube on her phone from a young age, she always showed interest in playing video games, and she had a lot of fun playing stuff like Minecraft, PVZ, etc... so i thought to myself it would be good if she could have a sense of community and installed YouTube on her phone and introduced some good channels to her that i knew were Non-toxic and appropriate for her. (this was almost a year ago) on retrospect i also think my bias of having the internet through my teenage years help me just understand certain stuff about the world better and also have some escapism since i had not much of a social life outside of that, even talking to my parents felt hard (and i also learned a lot of english, if you live in a non-english speaking country you know how usefull that is). Now, on Retro-retrospect i think what i did and my reasoning for it was compeletely FUCKING STUPID, i was a mess, i still am a mess, im a depressed, lonely, Porn-addicted, Sad person and i basically lead my sister Down the same fucking path instead of trying to teach her to be better than me and develope some social skills so she wouldn't be a loner studip chud like i am. now the content she consumes is pretty innocent, its just her favorite gaming channels (oh yes, no internet Community is civil to young women like The Gaming Community is!!!!) and some childish shorts centered around similar topics, i still worry this might have/end up having some irreparable damage, and TBh i dont really care if i am an asshole for it or not, i just want my sister to be safe, so if you have had similar experiences/Advice i would be happy to hear
