• Cameras you're considering: Canon g7x mark iii (auto focus issues?)
Canon powershot v1 (no flash, primarily for videos)

Fuji film xe5
Fuji film xt30 iii
Sony rx100 line
Sony a5100
*open to cameras not included in this list*
• Cameras you already have: I haven’t used a camera in probably 15 years
• Notes:

Hello! I’m looking to buy a camera for the first time in probably 15 years. I want to get away from using my phone constantly. I think I’d like something I can easily carry around with me (not a DSLR). I am overwhelmed by all of the choices and my lack of knowledge on cameras. Basically I want to get something to use to take everyday photos of my family along with using it while traveling. I don’t need anything fancy, but I’d like a good camera that will last and not have any major problems.

I do realize that iPhone pictures and camera pictures aren’t the same. That’s fine. I’m not interested in any advice on continuing to use my phone.

I’m open to options not on this list, honestly I’ve read so much it’s all blurring together. Ideally I’d spend $1000 or less. Idk if that’s realistic.

Thanks in advance!
