My ASUS VG249Q3A randomly turned off today while I was using it and now it seems completely dead.

I've tried pretty much everything I can think of:

Swapped the power cable
​
Tried different wall sockets
​
Left it unplugged overnight
​
Tried powering it on again today
​
Still nothing. No power LED, no ASUS logo, no backlight, no response from the power button at all.

What's weird is that it was working perfectly fine before this happened. There was no flickering, no weird noises, no burning smell, nothing that suggested it was about to die. It just switched off and never came back on.

The monitor is only 11 months old, so I'm pretty frustrated. Before I go down the warranty route, has anyone else had this happen with a VG249Q3A or another ASUS monitor? Does this sound like a failed power board or some other common issue?

Any advice would be appreciated.

My ASUS VG249Q3A suddenly stopped working while I was using it. The screen just went off instantly, and now it won’t power on at all. There’s no LED indicator or display.

Checking the power outlet

I can still hear a faint electrical/current sound when I plug the monitor in, but there’s no sign of life otherwise.
