Finally making a plan
Today my second credit card was fully paid off. I have 3 more under my own name and two that are under my husband and I. I felt that credit card debt was something so American that it didn’t feel wild that I was one of many carrying it with me.
In the last month I decided I’m done with being in debt and I’m done with playing the salaries of JP Morgan, Discover, Mastercard, etc. They are buying yachts and taking vacations with the interest that I have been paying them.
After writing it all down and what I can manage each month extra into my credit cards I should hopefully have them all paid off by 2028. It sounds sad that I cannot make it sooner, but having a plan truly has given me clarity and then I can tackle paying off my car.
Does anyone have tips on staying strong in the long fight? I know it sounds silly, but sometimes when repaying debt it can feel defeating. I’ve done research on balance transfers, personal loans, etc and it all just seems like ways for someone else to make interest on your money that was already collecting interest. Or a 6% transfer fee is in the fine print, or etc. so I’m doing this the old fashioned way, working 3 jobs, throwing my money at it until it’s gone.
That’s it ya’ll. Tips and tricks would be appreciated for staying the course. See you all in a debt free live soon enough.
