Intelligent Charging not working properly
Hi again
My set up seems faulty and Octopus support is stumped and has been unable to shed any light or help for months, just repeatedly going back and forth asking me if my charger or car apps are doing anything to interrupt the charging even asking for screenshots of the apps etc.
They do say that on their end they are firing many requests to charge to my things but the requests error or don't get through. They won't elaborate on what error they see but they have asked me how close my charger is to my WiFi (very and I have no issues with remote connections with my app) and boost mode always at least initiates a charge.
Maybe this community will be more fruitful, keen to hear any tips or tricks that might identify/fix the problems or make my life easier by working around them!
The problem:
The connection between octopus and my charger/car seems unreliable. There will be periods where it does not fully charge my car overnight and even nights where it didn't charge at all. Schedules are created in Octopus app but when the time comes the schedule either pushes it back or charging doesn't happen or it starts and then stops.
For some reason all of April was perfect. It would be fully charged every morning and as I leave it plugged in all day it would refill most days during the day as octopus kindly find an off peak window for me. But now it's back to being weirdly unreliable. Before April was similarly bad, not sure if customer service fiddled with something while I was complaining to them in March and it's since been reverted.
My set up:
Andersen A3
Mercedes GLC300e with a 13.5kWh battery
Yesterday I literally watched the octopus app schedule a charge in for 1.30 am. The time would pass and by 1.40am I gave up, disconnected my charger from the app for the first time and set up a schedule in my A3 and my car immediately started charging with no interruptions until schedule end at 5.30am.
My car has no charger settings, I think it just takes juice when I plug it in, nothing fancy as far as I can tell and it's only a small battery.
No problems with my hardware, Andersen app just become dumb and delegates to octopus.
Any tips to debug this or troubleshoot? Maybe I should contact Andersen instead, could they be screwing something up with the octopus handshake?
