To the a**hole that doesn't understand what a yield sign means

I was traveling on Brighton Ave and turning right onto Riverside. When turning right at the intersection you have a yield sign. I was (correctly) yielding to the oncoming traffic which has two lanes to flow into and a green arrow light giving them the right of way. This jackass speeds up behind me (I was stopped, correctly, and was semi-eyeing the rear view because a lot of folks do NOT slow down).

This guy came right up my butt and started beeping at me incessantly. I could see him motioning to the yield sign but like, what? A yield sign means the potential to stop, you drive up cautiously and YIELD the right of way if there is other traffic. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF THERE ARE TWO LANES. IF that meant anything there would be a MERGE sign, not yield.

FFS I'm so tired of others not understanding or blatantly ignoring the rules of the road. Putting all of us in danger. Nevermind it took all of 4 seconds for the traffic to clear and I went, so wtf dude? Did you poop yourself and need to get home asap? Calm down.

ETA proper parentheses!

Hi everyone, meet Tuna!

Shelter name: Luna

Nicknames from us: Tunie, Toonie Boones, Lunar Module, Loonie Toonie, Prancing Queen, Boonie Buns, Woo-na (she woo's instead of barking), Beautiful Baby Princess Boona Buns the First, Tiny Tuna, Tiny Tunie Woonie

Original location: Somewhere in Georgia, USA

Surrendered: Two separate times since moving to our state from Georgia. We are her third and forever family.

When we first rescued her we admittedly had some regrets. I had a trainer come in the first week and give us a ton of helpful tips. Worked on those quite slowly. She was wildly overstimulated ALL OF THE TIME. Everything worked her up and taking her back down was a FEAT, no joke, an allllll day affair.

Months later she started shedding her defense mechanisms and has become the incredible, obedient, beautiful little snuggle bug she is today. I cannot ever believe that not one, but TWO households gave her away. My heart breaks thinking of that. This girl literally smiles when she sees you, she immediately grabs her favorite toy to greet you and won't stop wiggling around the room because she's just that excited. She prances for f*cks sake, like a pygmy horse. That's adorable!!! She belly rolls constantly, wriggles on her back for ages and then barrel rolls back to her feet like "no no you didn't see that, nothing going on here officer!"

She's as unique as they come. Born on a leap year. I can only hope she stays with me 4x as long because of that. Enjoy the photos my friends - they never do her enough justice (I also have about 800,000 more pics if you're interested!)

Pray for me.

141 on the books for tomorrow night at my dinner-only casual fine dining restaurant and that isn't including walk-ins that we always get a ton of. There's three servers on, two bussers, expo, food runner, host.

I am the only bartender as there's "no one else to work" per my manager.

I am about to be sacrificed.

Did I mention I also have 12 bar seats, 3 four top tables and 3 two tops, and making drinks for everyone... including sodas? Did I mention that it is my second week back after being gone for years and we are *insanely* cocktail heavy?

The money had better be f**king worth it. I need all of the good vibes, well wishes and positivity from my fellow FOH.

I found out tonight and came home to my SO and immediately started crying when I saw them. Frankly I don't know how I am going to handle this, I'm legit scared. Tonight was bad enough and there were 120 covers and two of us bartenders. Bad enough we both had a tiny shot of tequila mid shift. Tomorrow... If I survive I will update with how it went. Wish me luck, homies.(edited to fix spacing)

UPDATE: I survived!!! I woke up this morning to a text from the owner apologizing and letting me know she would be taking half of the bar tables so I could focus only on tickets and the bar seats. She was quite upset that the other bartender really left us in the lurch for her weekend off. She didn't prep anything so I went in 2hrs early today and prepped literally everything, winging it the whole time because she has ZERO recipes written down. Thank f*ck I am an industry pro with 20 years experience and could figure it out for the most part. I'm moreso angry that she couldn't even be bothered to inform me we'd need x, y, z here's the recipe! There's no par levels, no nothing. I didn't think she'd leave me with having to make an order and NOT KNOW WHAT I NEED TO ORDER AND FROM WHERE

Anywho, we ended up doing 179 total covers. If it weren't for my boss taking tables and stepping in when I couldn't get to a table of my own I honestly would have drowned and probably cried in the walk-in.

Now for the important info! I listened to Wu Tang on my drive in to amp myself up. My boss and I pooled tips which we usually do with two bartenders. She focused on tables and I was basically a service bartender who got to escape to a table here and there. A few moments were tough for me but I kicked it up a gear. I made $20 less than I did last night still with two in the pool but fifty less covers. I had people compliment my efforts, I even had a guy that wanted to time me when I made a drink because he said he's never seen someone so fast. My boss high fived me and said I killed it, the whole BOH complimented me. That made it worthwhile.

All in all it was an okay night. 🤷‍♀️ Wish I had some better stories for you but either way THANK YOU HOMESKILLETS!!! You are all the best! I read every comment before I went in and it completely made my day. All the love ❤️

Weird voting experience

Voted at Woodford Club today.

Was given an already filled out ballot (circles all filled in for a Republican, which I was by no means planning to vote for).

Went back to the desk and showed them, was given a new ballot and they apologized saying "that was an accident". Umm okay how does that even happen??? Went up to submit the new ballot and was asked for my city ballot... Which apparently was forgotten in the exchange? I didn't realize and by then I was fed up and said screw it. Submitted my ballot and asked on the way out how I can volunteer/work during elections because frankly this is totally unacceptable.
