My company is using BeMatrix for our booth designs. planning on adding some more to our stock, but before I go ahead and invest some big bucks on brand new panels, i figured I’d ask here first:

Anyone got any ideas where to find used BeMatrix Inventory? Looking to buy within the US, preferably Florida - but shipping from any other of the continental states wouldn’t be a problem either…

PS Auctions and the like have some every couple of months or so, but i didn’t find any sources where something would be available within the next weeks…

Reading a lot of complaints about the new YPP requirement policies and now even starting my own thread with my pointless 2 cents.

While the new rules make it harder to join YPP, what’s actually the real consequences here? People start threatening to leave YouTube, because „it’s too hard to be successful“ now?

Congratulations, you just experienced what countless other people have experienced over the last 10 decades in other creative venues before: How many people are out there, wanting to become actors? How many of them made it to the big screen while the majority of them gave up that dream because the most they were able to were plays in college classes or maybe even local community theatres? How many bands were started in garages, with the dream of becoming a rockstar? How many ended up getting a record deal while the majority never made it past maybe playing at some local events? The list goes on and on…

Point is: You (and me) are not the only ones secretly wishing to become „rich and famous“. Out of the millions of people like us, only a few actually make it. Thats the hard truth. But if you give up, because you think „someone else made it slightly harder for me to be successful“, then you never had what it takes to begin with.

Ich schreibe diesen Text nicht um für meinen Kanal Werbung zu machen, sondern will nur mal nen Eindruck wiedergeben, den ich in den letzten Monaten so gemacht hab…

Ich habe einen kleinen Vlog, in dem ich aus meinem Alltag als jemand berichte, der mit Frau & Kind in Deutschland lebt, aber eine Firma in den USA hat und daher regelmäßig in beiden Ländern unterwegs ist. Ich mach das nicht, um der nächste „heiße Scheiss auf YouTube“ zu werden, sondern einfach so als Hobby nebenbei. Ich bin Mitte 40 und mache einfach nur persönliche Vlogs und keinen lauten überdrehten Schrei-Content, Pranks oder ähnlichen Kram. Dabei habe ich nun schon regelmässig die folgende Erfahrung gemacht:

Wenn ich in den USA mit Handy oder Kamera (auch hier nix wildes, ne Sony ZV1 halt) rumrenne und filme, dann kümmert es entweder keinen, jemand der mich sieht winkt vielleicht in die Kamera und ruft. Oder aber, jemand sieht mich und sucht direkt die Kamera, fragt „are you vlogging?“ und haut dann direkt nen Shoutout raus. Das gilt unabhängig davon ob jemand Anfang 20 oder Ende 60 ist. Generell ist das Feedback, wenn jemand nen Vlogger sieht, eher positiv.

Wenn ich in D mit dem Handy filme (die Sony nehm ich in der Öffentlichkeit schon kaum mehr), wird man zwar sehr oft ignoriert, aber ich bin fast schon froh wenn jemand nur blöd schaut. Denn abgesehen von Jungspunden, kommt von den meisten Menschen, die sehen dass ich Filme, direkt blödes Gemeckere von wegen „Ich hab Ihnen nicht erlaubt, mich zu filmen!“, „Datenschutz!“ und „löschen Sie bitte SOFORT dieses Video!“. Dabei gehts nichtmal drum, dass ich die Kamera ungefragt auf jemanden drauf halte, sondern zum Beispiel darum dass ich einen Zug gefilmt habe, der in den Bahnhof eingefahren ist und im Hintergrund stand halt jemand auf dem Bahnsteig, Oder ich filme mich selbst und im Hintergrund läuft jemand durchs Bild“.

Hat das außer mir auch schonmal so festgestellt, dass die Reaktionen in Deutschland auf jemand mit ner Kamera in der Öffentlichkeit eher „mimimi“ sind, verglichen mit Vloggern in den USA? Oder kommt mir das nur so vor / ist das ein Ich-Problem, weil deutsche beim Thema Vlog nur hippe 20-jährige im Kopf haben, und nen mittvierziger mit Kamera hier eher in den Bereich „creep“ einordnen? :D

Anyway, wollt mit dem Beitrag kein Mitleid für mein armes vloggerdasein erhaschen, aber vielleicht ergibt sich ja ne interessante Diskussion und Erfahrungsaustausch daraus…
