4-5 hours to kill at OGG

We’re visiting Maui and Lana’i next month. Our last day is on Lana’i and our flight home leaves OGG at 7:45pm. The flight from LNY>OGG is around 1pm. The late flight is too late. So when we get to OGG we will have around 4-5 hours to kill, no car, no room, and our luggage (carry-on bags).

Any suggestions on what to do? I’ve thought of a few options, none of them ideal.

  1. Suck it up and sit at the airport all afternoon and evening.
  2. Get a room (hourly rate?) at the hotel airport.
  3. Buy a resort pass to the Andaz and Uber to and from the airport.
  4. Rent a car for those hours and then we can do whatever we want.

Budget is pretty flexible, the main focus is less hassle and maximizing the experience. Appreciate any suggestions. Mahalo.

A story in 3 pictures, or UTR to the rescue

My neighbor accidentally cut my fiber line while gardening around the fiber box. I checked the cameras after realizing the line was totally dead.

After some thinking, I had the idea to ask them for their WiFi password and rigged up my UTR to feed back to the UDM SE in the network closet.

Only getting 30 Mbps but it’s surprisingly usable and has been up since Friday afternoon. Fiber company can’t come out until Tuesday.

And please don’t disparage my neighbor in the comments. Was it a smart move? No. Have we all done something stupid at one point? Yes. She is a real nice lady and even brought me cookies and an apology note.
