Should I leave my comfortable ₱70k wfh night shift job for a 70% higher-paying morning shift onsite role in Manila?
I’m currently earning around ₱70k WFH on a night shift setup in the BPO industry. I was verbally promoted(been 5 months now), but there was no salary increase. I also don’t get OT pay or night differential since both were waived in my contract.
To be honest, the setup became too comfortable. I feel like I’ve stopped growing professionally and I’m no longer learning much. After 7 years on night shift, ramdam ko na rin talaga yung epekto sa katawan and overall health.
Now I received an offer from a company in Makati. It’s a morning shift role with paid OT, and I’m targeting around 70 percent increase than my current compensation.
What’s making the decision difficult is family and personal life. My father is getting older, my girlfriend doesn’t want me to move.
Honestly I feel like it’s time for a major change and growth in life.
Commute from Province to Manila would be around 2–3 hours, though I can still go home on weekends. I already passed all interview rounds.
For those who made the jump from comfortable WFH province life to onsite work in Manila.
