No, you will not change your life by reading a book that says it will change your life. you will not change your life by reading a book that begs you to buy it. Life changing advice is not given directly, it is given through metaphors, allegories, stories. This is reading for people who dont want to read. Another thing is that these books are obsessed with money and power. They feed on peoples insecurities.
The main reason i hate these books so much is that they are everywhere. Every book store has rich dad poor dad, i live in a non-english speaking country and when im in a bookstore i go to the section where there are english books, there is so few of them and half of them are this shit. They just feel so capitalist and american in nature, the catchy, clickbaity title, the obsession with getting rich, how they divide people into groups, one group which "doesnt have the millionaire mindset and doomed to be poor" and the "enlightened rich people who actually produce everything in society". it pushes the stupid idea that the working class doesnt actually contribute anything valuable and deserve to live in poverty while the stock traders and entrepreneurs deserve every dollar of their wealth.
Now for the conclusion i just want to say i didnt fucking read these books (except the alchemist in the image but that isnt a self help book and is actually pretty good), i just hate them existing and their stupid covers and their stupid titles and premises.
