[5e] Looking for players for a completely DM-less Oracle sandbox!

hey guys!! i made a discussion post about 12 hours ago and im super excited to officially try starting a fully co-op, completely DM-less game!

basically we’ll all be players controlling our own characters, and we'll use an Oracle / tools like the solo adventurer's toolbox to handle the world, the twists, and the NPC responses. since there’s no DM, we'll all take turns interpreting what the system throws at us!

i’ll be acting as the "mod" or coordinator just to help keep the world cohesion together and settle any narrative disputes so it doesn't turn into total chaos anarchy lol.

to be totally honest, idk how we would do combat yet 😔 nor do i have any world lore built up, but i feel like we can all brainstorm it together and figure it out as a group before we start!

the details:

System: D&D 5e

Platform: Discord pbp

Posting Rate: at least once a day

if you want to join a super collaborative, experimental game and help brainstorm a world together, please message me or leave a comment with a bit about yourself and your character ideas! :3

Group dnd PBP with NO DM (using an Oracle) — is this allowed / does it work?

Hey guys, quick question for you all. Also please don't mind me being one day old, I literally just made my account today so that's why it's brand new! I'm totally a real person, not a bot 😭

I’m really wanting to start a new pbp game but I want to try it with absolutely no DM. Basically a fully co-op group game where we use an Oracle (like Mythic or Ironsworn charts) to handle the world, the twists, and the NPC responses. We’d all just be players controlling our characters and taking turns interpreting what the Oracle throws at us.

Before I go making a whole LFP post I wanted to check a couple things first.

First off is this even allowed here? Since there's no actual DM to host it I wasn't sure if it fits the usual recruiting rules or how I should label the recruitment post later.

Second has anyone actually done this successfully in a group pbp? I know solo players use oracles 24/7 but I’m wondering how well it translates to a group text format. Does the game just stall out if there isn't one person driving the plot forward, or do people actually stay engaged?

If you’ve tried something like this before let me know how it went or if you have any tips on making it work. Thanks!
