Saw TCG's awesome clip showing how the RBMK works. Thank you! However, I'm confused on how the control rods slow/stop the reaction. I always thought the reaction happened inside each technology channel and the graphite helped slow things down inside. It appears that the fuel rods in one column are actually sending neutrinos through one column to another, not inside its own channel? If not and the reaction is within a single column, how do rods in a separate channel stop it?
I love the Chernobyl Guy videos. Great content and delivery. Seems exceptionally well researched to this layman’s mind. However the YT algo decided to add this T Folse Guy to my feed and he doesn’t seem to care too much for the CG vids. Claims he’s a 10 year nuclear power vet.
