Greenspoint Mall, Houston Texas

Abandoned mall in Greenspoint, Houston Texas. Opened in 1976 as an upscale premium shopping center, it declined through the late 1990s before closing in July 2024.

These photos were taken just over a month before its two-year anniversary of abandonment.

Chapel Hills Mall (Colorado Springs, Co.)

A bunch of my pictures couldn't be posted for being to big of a file, but these are what I could post

The Citadel Mall (Colorado Springs, Co.)

Such a cool mall, I wish I could post the rest of the pictures but file size is limited. Got built in 1972 and the food court has been untouched since, added I believe between 1980-1984, never once changed renovated it, just added new parts onto it. I dont think this mall will survive but I truly hope it does, modern designs in malls suck and are soulless, built solely to drive you to buy and not linger to long.

The Grafton Centre, Cambridge, UK

This was a successful mall / shopping centre in one of the UK's wealthiest and fastest growing cities, with a food court, eight screen cinema, two department stores, and around 50 other units It was opened in 1984, extended in 1995, and had a big £30m refurbishment eight years ago, it all feels almost brand new inside. But a rival development a ten minute walk away sent it in to decline. This probably wasn't what killed it though - with explosive growth in city property values the owners simply decided it was worth far more as a business and biotech and life sciences campus, than as a mall. It's still open, perfectly clean and air conditioned, and the car parks are in use as they serve the rest of the city centre - but all shops are closed apart from five right by the entrance, and work has started to convert it to science use, which will reuse about half of the structures including the main atrium, as well as adding a large hotel, multiple laboratory and office blocks, and some housing, to create open air squares in a small part that will be retained.

I don't use Reddit often, but wanted to share some footage of the Indian River Mall east wing demolition I took with my camcorder :)

Demolition started a few weeks ago on the Macy's, Sears to follow soon. Main concourse is closed off as they start the conversion to make it open air, and roof on rest of mall is being replaced now too.

Old Mall

I found this old semi abandoned mall in Parramatta, half the shops inside were empty which made for perfect liminal space photos. This was my first time, tell me what you think.

Fairlane Village Mall (Pottsville, PA) - 2026.07.03

Still open, but there are literally zero inline stores left. It still gets a decent number of mall walkers, mostly older people.

Has anyone seen this 2006 documentary on the Dixie Square mall?

I can’t seem to find any info on it outside of these websites

Exton Square Mall — Post-Closure Explore

I've visited this mall four times now: once in 2024, twice in 2025, and now once in 2026. This, however, was my parting farewell to this gorgeous, underappreciated structure.

My buddy and I ventured in here at night. Won't say how we got into the concourse (or the Macy's) but I think those of you who know this mall, or generally explore, should know.

Some pictures I took on my Song Alpha 6700 with the kit 18-135mm lens. Was supposed to be taking all of these shots on a Tamron 17-70mm, but it got delayed to next week. That was too long of a wait, for me anyway.

The Macy's already had some vandalism— mainly broken mirrors and glass, tipped water buckets, and petty graffiti on some walls. Be mindful of the leaking roof and the potential for ceiling tile to fall on you. We heard a "sploosh" which was a 2x2 finally getting too waterlogged and falling out of the ceiling about 15ft away from us.

I would say avoid the main concourse entirely unless you are willing to take an unnecessary risk (for the sake of pictures), as we did. My personal opinion is, stay on the 2nd floor and away from the food court area if you do.

I only visited here because I spent many of my childhood years running carefree through this mall's well-lit corridors while my parents shopped. As such, I wanted to get some pictures of a pristine structure before the Instagram and TikTok gremlins got to it because rest assured, they're going to get to it, and soon. The amount of tags, trash, and general chaos ALREADY present in or around the anchor stores is bewildering. So if you want to go and see this mall in a true "forgotten" state, now would be the time.

Smashed entrance door at Livingston Mall

I originally saw a recent YouTube video outside of the mall showing this. This is near the former modells. I took this, this afternoon

Willow Bend Mall - Plano, TX (Follow Up)

After my short trip to Macroplaza Mall yesterday (see previous post) I headed back to my hometown and spent the night there. Before leaving back, I decided to stop by the Shops at Willow Bend one last time, as from what I recall it'll be demolished pretty soon. I actually already did a post with this one, seen here: https://www.reddit.com/r/deadmalls/s/5KJYwINV7f
There were less tenants than last time, and a lot of stores were having "everything must go" sales. This included one of the artist galleries; this particular one exclusively sold canvas paintings, and I bought a couple for my apartment.
Anyways, I happened to bring my two cameras-my Sony DSC-H1 Handycam, and my Sony CCD-TR91 camcorder. I had used the camcorder for the Macroplaza Mall the previous day, and I took the chance to get a bunch of snaps of Willow Bend while trying to avoid detection from security. I know these might not be the best, but I tried to pick the best ones I had out of the 80+ photos I had from that camera. I wanna keep myself updated on this mall; but regardless of what happens to it, I'm glad I got a good collection for it. See you guys next post, cheers (:

The Shops at Willow Bend (Plano, TX) - July 2026 update. The bEnd is Near!

So someone else recently visited Willow Bend and uploaded the pictures a couple hours ago to here. I also went on my own visit today with my father, as my last visit was in April with my aunt.

Since then, Centennial has confirmed that they will pretty much demolish the whole mall, and the Dallas Stars have signed a letter of intent to build new their hockey arena on the site of Willow Bend, which the City of Plano appears to be willing to fund. As for Willow Bend itself, it is closing on August 31st; a manager at the mall confirmed this. Most tenants have started the process of moving out, and some have closed since my last visit, the most notable being one of the final mainstream tenants in Sweet & Sassy.

Most of the tenants, I've found, are moving to Frisco. Skypony Gallery relocated to the former Lands' End space near Stonebriar, and Chally is also moving to a parcel in Frisco. I don't know where Oxford Street is moving, but if I had to guess, probably somewhere in Frisco too. In addition, the escalators are starting to be roped off, and now the elevators are becoming the likely method of getting to the second floor.

I will return to the mall on its last day with my family to say goodbye, and then a few months after that, maybe return to Neiman Marcus to eat lunch at Mariposa for the last time before Neimans goes as well. Everyone else in the DFW area, and major urbex YouTubers, come visit while you still can and document this Taubman gem before it gets knocked down. It's really beautiful even if it's in extremis (as Sal would say) now.

Who has memories of the old Vallco Shopping mall?

I grew up fascinated by how much Cupertino has changed over the years, so I spent the last couple of weeks putting together a timeline of Vallco Mall’s entire history.

I remember getting a $1 from my mom and having to find the extra 10cents , either In pay phones or wherever to buy a hamburger and fries at McDonalds.

I tracked down some old photos and vintage newspaper ads that I hadn’t seen collected in one place before.

If you grew up shopping there—or even worked there—I’d love to hear your memories. I’m sure there are plenty of stories I don’t know yet.

What store or memory immediately comes to mind when someone mentions Vallco?
