Arugam Bay or Trinco in July

I’m a solo female traveller from India. Planning to travel to SL from India for 8 days in mid July and current plan is to Land in Colombo - direct to Nuwara Eliya for 2 days - Arugam bay/Trinco. I would love to add one day for leapord safari if possible.

Now m confused between Arugam and Trinco and can’t decide which beach town I’d like better.

My main agenda for this trip is leisure. I’m switching jobs and before I start my next one, I want a relaxing vacation. Just slow living, no itinerary and max vibes.

To give you context, I visited the South coast last year - 9 days only beaches (Ahangama, Mirissa, Hiri) and I liked Ahangama the best. So much so that I spend 6 out of 9 days there. What I liked about Ahangama the most is that there were good secluded beaches to find on scooter + great cafés and food places to explore when I wanted + good nightlife too.

Please also let me know rain situation as well as I am looking specifically for sunny beach days and for waters I can swim in - vvv important!

Is it raining in BKK and Koh Samui ?

I want to visit Thailand in the 3rd week of July but was wondering what the monsoon situation would be like. Are Bangkok and Koh Samui good rain-free options or are there other places suggestions one can help with?

Confused where to go in July

Hi, I am a solo female traveller from India. I would like to travel in the 3rd week of July for say 8 to 10 days.

Now, I would like this to be a relaxing trip, no running from one place to another every 2 days. I would prefer chilling at a beach or even just slow travelling through a sleepy mountain town, or also ok with cozy vibes in a city.

One thing though - I am shit scared of lizards and while ok with seeing them at a distance, having them in my room is a big no! Plus, I would like this to be a rain-free vacation (literally trying to escape Mumbai July rains).

I am torn between east coast of Sri Lanka ( Eliya + Trincomalee/Arugam Bay) and Thailand (Bangkok + Koh Samui) but the fear of lizards is legit, and also not sure about the rain situation here.

Looking for help in narrowing down on one place, but also open to other suggestions (visa can be easily and quickly acquired)
