New Tripod, Mallory!

New Tripod, Mallory!

Mallory had her hind leg amputated on Friday and joined the tripod club. It has been a rough adjustment so far but finally today (Sunday) she is seeming more like herself. Just wanted to say how thankful we are for this community, we’ve been able to read other’s stories and seek advice and it has made this process easier. There were some minor complications (blood pressure/clotting related) and post-op bleeding but she is happily eating churrus and even trying to walk around a few steps here and there in her kennel. Thanks to everyone who has shared their experiences in this sub!

CHS with morning vomiting only

A little over a year ago, coinciding with a very stressful time in my life, I started to dry heave & vomit (usually just a few times) in the mornings when waking up before going to work, sometimes once a week, sometimes as often as every day. I wake up around 6am and my job is really stressful (public school teacher). I am diagnosed with an Anxiety Disorder and I have been using cannabis almost daily for about 5 years (EDIT: primarily flower, sometimes edibles, never carts or concentrate).

I’ve been back and forth with my PCP, GI specialist, dietician, psychiatrist and therapist in the last year and gone on PPIs, H2 blocker, changed my antidepressant, increased my anxiety med (buspar), and even had an endoscopy which found mild gastritis.

At my first PCP visit about my morning time vomiting, I asked about CHS but the dr advised that it CHS would present with more severe and persistent vomiting but that I could quit using for a while and see if my symptoms improved.

After a year I’ve finally decided to try quitting to see if it improves my symptoms, it’s been around 10 days, and I guess I’m at the point where I’m wondering… do you agree with the PCP that the presentation would be more severe? Or do any of y’all experience more “mild” symptoms (ie vomiting only immediately after waking)?

I feel lost and have been really trying to figure this out for a while. I will keep up the abstinence but so far my symptom improvement has been minimal. Thoughts? Advice?
