welp, think i tore my meniscus on vacation

Caveat: haven’t seen a doctor yet, no diagnosis.

Am on a lovely lovely vacation and went on a hard hike yesterday with my friends. After climbing up 1500feet of elevation gain, I was almost at the end of the hike when I twisted my ankle, fell to the side, and yanked something in my knee that resulted in serious pain and a half-golf ball size swelling along the joint line once I got back to the car. Thankfully i was already wearing a compression sleeve because I’ve been having mild issues with that knee, but damn, did it HURT covering that last half mile downhill.

Swelling has come down a LOT, and I can walk but not well. Now I’m resting and I’m just bummed. Four more days till I get home and I’m debating moving my flight up. Just sad, in pain, and smacking myself for being so clumsy. Please cross your fingers for me it’s nothing super serious, and if anyone has tips for managing an early stage injury (besides RICE) while away from home I’m all ears!

any dc agencies ready to take out 1000 lanternflies?

Hi all - don’t know if any DC agencies are tasked with handling lanternfly infestations. If there are any, can we report lantern fly hotspots to them? I know it’s a drop in the bucket, but I passed a tree yesterday absolutely SMOTHERED in nymphs and figured if treated, that’s an easy couple thousand dead in one swoop. alternatively, if any good samaritan wants to go crazy, this tree is on the M street bridge over to Georgetown, right hand side closer to 26th.

hi bitches, i'm hitting 30 and need my body to stop falling apart. i consider myself pretty fit - i lift 3-4x a week, do yoga, can (don't often) run. however lately my knees hurt, my upper back is crazy tight, and i think my desk job is killing me. i'd love to work with a PT (literally, either a physical therapist or a personal trainer) who can assess what's working and not working with my muscles and joints and develop a training regimen that helps address all parts of the body, holistically. i don't just want targeted therapy, nor do I want a general lifting routine. suggestions?

ideally - near dupont, and affordable (i have no idea how much this could cost, but i'm hoping it doesn't range over $75/session)...

thank you!!!
