To my “Aunt Mary” and “Uncle Herbert”

To my “Aunt Mary” and “Uncle Herbert”

I got married this past weekend in the Grand Traverse Commons. While opening cards, we found one from our “Aunt Mary” and “Uncle Herbert” along with a $5 bill.

We were quite confused, as we do not have an aunt Mary or uncle Herbert.

However, if either of you see this, please know you gave us a big laugh. Something about the phrase “you make lovin’ fun” followed by these two unknown names had us both keeled over laughing for a good 10 minutes.

Thank you for the $5, and I hope you enjoyed a few fun drinks (we have so much booze leftover so we are happy to have shared).

Wedding day wine - 1998 Krug

I got married yesterday, and I got us a bottle of 1998 Krug to open post ceremony. Couldn’t think of a better excuse to extra splurge on an exciting birth year wine.

Tasting notes: Brioche, Hazelnut, Apple, Dried apricots, Lemon, Good minerality.

Still had a good level of acid, and the bubbles held up nicely. Definitely made for a very special treat, and lovely memory for the day!

Pattern is Petite Knit novice slipover using Cascade 220 yarn.

I started this over a year ago and knit maybe a few inches of the back panel. After knitting lots of small items last year, I finally felt determined enough to go back to this. Not having to do sleeves definitely made this much more approachable, although I do have some yarn incoming for a full sleeved sweater to start this year.

Really love how this came out, and super proud of myself! I think I’m ready to go back to some socks for a bit though 🤣
