MicroATX Gaming PC for $2500 USD
I need help choosing parts for a new build.
I'm looking to replace my current aging setup with a gaming PC that will last me for a few years.
New build or upgrade?
- New build.
Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)
- I have all the necessary peripherals.
PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)
- Gaming. I mainly play Space Engineers. My current decade-old computer does a decent job playing the game, but it struggles when I battle online on multi-player servers. I'd like this pc to have enough headroom performance-wise to handle Space Engineers 2 on high-performance settings when it is out of early access.
Purchase country? Near Micro Center?
- USA. I live within a few miles of a Micro Center.
Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)
- No monitors are needed at the moment.
Budget range? (Include tax considerations)
- I'm willing to spend up to $2500.
WiFi or wired connection?
- I'd like the option to use Wi-Fi, but I'll probably be using ethernet for the majority of the time.
Size/noise constraints?
- The PC will mostly live in my office, but I'd like it to be small enough to move to the living room so I can play on the couch some times. I was thinking about MicroATX or smaller, but I don't know how realistic that is. I might be willing to increase my budget somewhat if it gets me a more compact machine without sacrificing performance too much.
- Quieter would be nice, but I'm not terribly concerned about PC noise (as long as it doesn't sound like a freight train).
Color/lighting preferences?
- I'd prefer it to be black. I wouldn't mind some RGB lighting, but nothing too over the top. As long as it looks like it could somewhat fit into a living room I'd be happy.
Any other specific needs?
- I'd like 2 TB of storage ideally. I might be able to get by with 1. Thank you for your help!
