Stunning trip up Hwy 101 into the redwoods. Camped with our Road Toad teardrop at The Redwoods River Resort. NOT a RV resort. True campground but with fun amenities. Power, water, toilets, showers made it comfortable. Swimming pool, general store, restaurant and pub made it fun. Great for kids, huge play area, ice cream social and karaoke. Steep hike down to the Eel river. Low flow in August. Short drive to the incredible Richardson Grove. Another short hop to Garberville and the Eel River Cafe. In the past year we have roamed with the buffalo in S Dakota, seen the Arches and Hoodoo’s in Utah and now the giant redwoods. Amazing sights.

Beautiful weekend in the Sierras. Small lake outside of Yosemite’s South Gate. We had a good spot at Spring Cove campground, however it was a noisy crowd. I took a morning run along shore (a lot easier than last week’s Boston Marathon). Very scenic. This is one of many great spots just east of Fresno county.>! !<>!#teardrops, #roadtoad, #campinn!<>! !<
