Beautiful 3 nights in Idyllwild
This was our first time in Idyllwild, and it’s our new favorite local spot. Living in San Diego we’ve been going to Mt. Laguna a lot because it’s so close, but this was definitely worth an additional hour drive! Stone creek campground also had hookups so we could use our AC for once. Next trip is 9 days in late August split between Mammoth, Sequoia and Yosemite.
New to me Little Guy Tag. Can I just throw a LiFePo4 battery in there?
Just bought my first trailer. It’s a 2016 T@G, and it needs a new battery. I know very little about RV batteries, but I understand that LiFePo4 batteries are superior in a few different ways. From what I can tell, the factory wiring has not been modified. Can I install a LiFePo4 in my T@G without modifying the existing wiring? It has an inverter that automatically switches from plugging into my house to battery power.
Thinking of building my own Square Drop/ teardrop trailer
Having recently slept in the back of my small car whilst traveling through scotland i have realised i need something more suited for the job. so I'm planning on building a trailer but not sure where to start. Im UK based and would rather start a build from scratch but use a second hand trailer chassis as the base. My car can only tow up to 800kg on a braked axle. im 6ft2 and a large guy so would need as much space as possible. What size frame or chassis should i be looking at idealy. i have a welder so could make adaptations to the chassis but i dont want to make a chassis from scratch as i believe i would then need to take it to get tested here in the uk but i might have to do that anyway im not really sure. anyone can offer assistance or advise it would be greatly appreciated.

AC question?
On small camper AC systems, like what you may find on a teardrop, how long can a battery and solar system run the AC and a small (40L) refrigerator? Or is a small gas generator needed? I'm totally clueless on modern camper electrical systems, as when I was growing up and camping with my grandparents, AC used a lot of power and the Onan generator ran constantly. Are propane-powered refrigerators still a "thing" or have they been generally replaced by electric ones? Thanks!
Dear campground owners: please have dry camping sites at a lower cost than hopkups
Chambers Lake, CO
This campsite barely dodged the Cameron Pass fire of 2020, but it's so beautiful.

Planning a trip
I was talking to my dad about teardrop trailers and my mom chimed in saying she wished I would take a month long trip across the country.
I talked to her again about it this morning and she said she was serious, I just have to plan a trip first and figure out what to do with my 2 cats.
So my question for the community is... Starting in the low country of South Carolina (Charleston) where would you go? Obviously I want to see the grand canyon, Yellowstone, and Yosemite. I'd also like to pass through Las Vegas.
But other than that I am not really sure. I know there are probably websites with this all planned out but I wanted to get y'all's opinion too.
Thanks for your advice.
Little guy got some shade this weekend (finally)
took the teardrop out to white pines in CT, needed a break from my apartment which has somehow become my office my gym and my prison lol
First thing I noticed pulling in actual trees. Like real shade coverage. My tiny tin can turns into a solar oven by 9am most trips so this was genuinely exciting. The site was tucked back enough that I wasn't staring at some mega RV the whole time either
Nothing fancy about the place but the hookups worked, nobody bothered me, and I sat in my camp chair for like 4 hours doing absolutely nothing which is honestly the dream
Only downside was I forgot my leveling blocks like an idiot so I slept slightly crooked. Woke up with my feet pressed against the cabinet door. Rookie move
Anyway if you're in CT with a little rig and just want a quiet spot with actual trees, camphappygrounds has it listed on their site. beats the parking lot style parks I've been ending up at lately
Sealing the belly and corners of our build
Drawing plans to build out a 4x8 HF trailer into a Tearbox trailer.
What are you all doing to protect the underside?
Are you all using some sort of laminate or fiberglass to seal up the corners and make it waterproof?
Looking for any good plans for a 4x8 trailer to extend it a few inches on each side.
Don’t be me.
Finally found out why my doors and windows are leaking.
Didn’t take the plugs out of the weep holes after installing. 🫠
