6.5qt Storage Tote Organizer

6.5qt Storage Tote Organizer

In the past I built one of those popular 27gal storage tote organization walls. That system of categorized storage bins has been extremely useful.

When Home Depot began selling these small 6.5qt bins several months ago, I had the idea to create a smaller version of that organization wall to go in the workshop area of my garage. This is high, against the 9.5ft ceiling. It’s intended to store overflow of consumable items (zip ties, tape, jigsaw blades, screws, etc) and other items that I don’t need frequent access to (casters, camera gear).

I’m considering this an alternate to using cabinets. Instead of filling cabinets I’d never look in, and losing things in the back, this system helps categorize everything and I can find whatever I need at a moment’s notice.

36 Bags of Mulch

For anyone curious of the bed’s volume limitations. 36 (1.5cu ft) bags of mulch fit nicely, exceed the rails a bit, but had no concern about weight shifting.
