I’m baaaaack… the mad hatter!

I’m baaaaack… the mad hatter!

I got a lot of wild responses to my wall of hats, but I really think you’ll like this:
My newly organized shoe closet, or, as my husband calls it, ‘the shoe-y decimal system.’ Har har har… dad jokes.
Anyhoo, I decided I would ‘file’ the majority of my shoes by color or print in large clear open bins. There are a few enclosed shoe boxes that hold nicer shoes. I’m not preserving or curating my shoes. I wear them on the regular in rotation. I’ve gradually added them over the past 20 years, which was close to the last time my feet changed size after my last pregnancy. I’ve got a nice representation of leather Vans, an assortment of ankle boots, flats like loafers or oxfords or ballet flats, and sandals in lots of colors and styles. I also love clogs and I have several pairs of those as well. For boots I have a mix of new & vintage Fryes and Dan Posts. I’ve thrifted probably 30% thus keeping them out of landfills. So please, no snark. People are allowed to have more than three pairs of shoes. Tomayto, tomahto.

I'll leave this here

I was a livin nanny and on of my many many tasks was to constantly re-fold and pickup the mess the girl made, it definitely gave me satisfaction but took multiple hours.

I'm not sure if this is breaking the rules because there's an after picture included?

Medicine Cabinet repurposed for Jewelry Cabinet

I have 2 medicine cabinets but I really don't need 2 so I turned this one into a jewelry cabinet.

Pegboard of my dreams

Currently cleaning out my craft shelves, which I’m still working on and will be a separate post (it’s coming along nicely). However this pegboard has satisfied an organizational itch. Super satisfied how it turned out, and solved a clutter problem, like all the random beads a Pompoms that had no real place. Plus it utilizes a vertical space that was otherwise unusable.

Please help I am a hoarder

Please help. I’m a hoarder and I finally had to admit that to myself.

This is my closet, and it’s been like this for many years. I never even go in there because it overwhelms me and honestly scares me. Every time I tell myself I’m going to clean or organize it, I walk in, feel immediate anxiety, and walk right back out.

I’m a woman in my twenties living alone, and I’m so embarrassed by how disorganized my space has become that I never invite anyone over. My family has no idea because I’m too ashamed to tell them, and I’ve never asked for help because the thought of anyone seeing this makes me want to disappear.

But I’m exhausted living like this. I don’t want this to be my life anymore. It’s affecting my mental health, my peace, and how I live day to day.

I’ve decided I need to face this myself, but I genuinely need guidance from people who understand this or have gotten through something similar. How do you even start when the overwhelm is so intense that you shut down immediately?

Any serious tips, strategies, or encouragement would mean a lot. Thank you.

Closet Ideas for Weird Shaped Room

I want to turn my attic into a walk-in closet but the size and shape is weird. The highest point is 7'8" and lowest is 4'8". Room is about about 12'6" x 13'3". The standard closet organizers all seem to only work with tall walls. I want more hanging space than wall shelves. Any recommendations for how to organize this space?

Talk to me about visual family schedule organization systems

I’m an ADHD mom trying to manage our family’s schedule. If it’s hidden in my phone calendar or buried in a bunch of alarms and last minute alerts it doesn’t work. I need to see it at a glance. There are SO many systems and ideas out there. I don’t think we can afford a skylight, although I do like the idea? What has actually clicked for your family?

Advice on toddlers Bruder trucks?

Single dad with limited amount of storage and they take up an enormous amount of his closet. It feels like a lot of valuable space is taken now! Next year when him and I move into a house I was thinking of storing them outside, but wanted to hear some feedback from you all. Thank you in advance!

Is there a better way to handle my daughter's toys?

My daughter's room is giving me migraines. It's always messy, and even when cleaned it looks cluttered. Not pictured are her stuffed animals and her Bluey playsets.

This isn't even all her toys. In the den we have more books, puzzles, sensory toys (playdough, sand, slime), little people playsets, dress up clothes, blocks, trains, board games, and crafts.

I know she has too many toys, but every time I purge, it's like our relatives can sense it and start buying her more stuff to fill in the space.

I'm planning on purging again soon, but maybe I'm missing something organization-wise. Is there a better way to handle all this?

(We rent from family, who had the flags up before we moved in. We could take them down, but initially I liked that they added some color to the walls.)

Do you have small organized spaces at home that bring you joy? For me, that’s my kitties’ bowl display.

It’s a small space but it brings me such joy 😅

What’s your favorite organized small space?

My garage setup, help me do better!

Hi everyone, this is the general scheme of my garage.

I’m thinking of moving the motorcycle gear to the apartment, and getting rid of some stuff on the top storage area to feee up space for more tools in the future. Cheers!
