Is anybody else openly furry with their friends and family?
I (19F) only say this because furry has been something that has followed me since I was a toddler. Not consciously, but I've always been infatuated with animals and especially human-like animals. Naturally as I got older my family gave me access to the internet which resulted in me becoming a furry as young as 8 years old.
So, y'know, they all saw me doing this stuff since I was little. Drawing furries, roleplaying wolves, watching furry videos... My brother grew up as the "ew, furry" type but he never actually disliked me for it— just liked to poke fun at me. I find the "military married older brother" and "chronically online artist avid furry younger sister" pipeline to be very ironic haha.
I actually grew up in school being bullied for being a furry and drawing furry things, which stopped around high school since by that point I'd been going to school with the same people for 7 years.
Just food for thought.
