I think we need to grow up

Not sure if y'all are aware but recently the angry birds movie blew up on twitter and everyone's been posting clips about it and talking about how funny it is— Which is awesome cuz I think most people in this fandom agree the first movie's pretty fun and it was sad to see how hated it was

Then I started to see people post about the second movie as well, and talk about how it was better than the first. Which is fine in my opinion. People can have different opinions, I think most of us over here aren't too fond of the second one though

But I started to see fans of angry birds like me who disliked the second movie hate on it, and I mean these people were FURIOUS, not just politely saying why they disliked it but acting like it's objectively the worst movie ever because it isn't faithful to the games, starting a bunch of arguments between the two audiences

Now I haven't watched these movies properly in years, and that was when I was like 11, I'm in like my mid teens now so I have a somewhat better sense of judgement. So I rewatched them without thinking about which one was a better adaptation, and honestly they're. Both fine? Hell if I'm gonna be fully honest, despite the fact that the second movie kinda spits in the face of the game canon, it really does just have higher quality writing than the first, especially from a comedic standpoint (it has its own flaws too of course)

I'm not saying the second movie is better, but I think we really do need to stop acting like it's this awfully written mega generic slop movie when it's kinda just a good movie but not a good adaptation

This doesn't just stop at these movies. I remember seeing people hate on the Mystery Island posts and the director of the show was super upset about it because he genuinely was passionate about making it and enjoyed that. Like come on guys. Plus over the past years people have been calling Rovio greedy and awful and saying they don't care about us and while that's true of pretty much any big company I just think it's all such an overreaction

I got into this fandom when I was like 10 and back then I kinda agreed but I feel like I've grown out of that mindset now and its weird to see how everyone else just. Hasn't. Which is true of this fandom in general (I'm aware there are some actual children here but I think a lot of them are a little older now)

You're allowed to be upset about the second movie being unfaithful, you're allowed to be upset it took over the franchise, and you're allowed to dislike whatever you want even for no reason, that's fine! But we all seriously need to stop acting like anything we dislike is pure evil when it's just a series of games we love, and work on voicing our opinions politely and not acting like they're objective

Sorry idk this is just something that annoys me a little. Perhaps even... Angers me... 🐦

(And PLEASE stop asking for a space movie, that possibility was hopeless as soon as the second movie came out idk why everyone still thinks we might get one 😭)
