Do NOT go to AMPM
Last night, five of us went to a club. 4 Asians and one friend who is brown. We were just waiting in line like everyone else. A tall white security guard came up, immediately singled out only our brown friend and told him to leave the line with NO explanation. When he calmly asked why, the white security started yelling and being aggressive. We were then told to move to another line, so we did. After waiting again, the same white security came back and again refused entry ONLY to our brown friend also referring him as LOSER. This is when the situation got escalated. The tall white security grabbed our brown friend, dragged him to the curb, and started repeatedly PUNCHING him in the face. 4 or 5 other staff did NOTHING to stop it. Instead, they RESTRAINED our friend’s arms to his back while he was being attacked and grabbed the rest of us when we tried to break off the fight. One of our other friends was also grabbed and assaulted and one of the girl was pushed to the ground. The witness referring to the staff there stated that my girl friend pushed the white security first which makes absolutely no m sense. This was extremely disrespectful, unprofessional, rude and completely unacceptable. It honestly felt racist in how my only non-asian friend was singled out and being called LOSER without given any reason. We are also extremely angry when one of the owner Bennyyoung briefly came over and asked what happened, but it was performative as he didn’t actually follow up, didn’t investigate properly and never came back for any updates or to address anything further. Police and paramedics were called, but the police don’t do much and it seemed like they were used to this kind of situation and that they were ready to deal with it in favor of the club.
